I haven't had either in years (Popeyes in over a decade) but...ehhh...frig this is tough. I'll go with KFC, lots of good childhood memories associated with KFC.
I think you're right. I've had lots of KFC over the years and it always comes down to which restaurant you eat at and then, who's working. Until they built one in my area recently, I'd only eaten at Popeyes twice before. Once was about 12 years ago after a race in Texas, and we were so drunk that I don't even remember eating my food. Hell, maybe I didn't. :dunno: The other time was in Mississippi and the food was horrible. I mean, like undercooked and/or rotten - I threw it all away. I decided to stop at the local joint after it opened and the food was fantastic. I try not to eat much fast food, but now I'm more likely to stop at Popeyes than KFC.
I doubt either is as good as they used to be back in the day. After so much alteration for mass production and all that entails few food products ever stay as good. It seems to be getting worse as time goes on also.
There's a few Popeyes around Scarborough Rd area, Toronto. I like KFC for the chicken and popeyes for the seafood. If you like quality food in your diet, best not eat from take-away chains too often.
KFC for me. Though to be honest I have not tried Popeyes. However from time to time KFC is a nice guilty pleasure. Those variety buckets are awesome and not to bad a price if you split between a three or four of you. Three is usually the best. The popcorn chicken is awesome.
