oh? so "care" was actually delivered?

had a case here just a year ago. a girl was shot in the head by robbers. she was still conscious when she and a friend got to the first hospital. know what the staff did? they called her a cab and gave her a small cotton cloth for her bleeding head. the better hospital was at least 30 minutes away :dunno:

The response of the hospital? "We would encourage the family to contact our patient advice service if they have any concerns over the care received."

I'm so great I'm jelous of myself.
It's the Daily Mail - the story may not be true.

I'm a little surpised they didn't consider the effect on house prices such an incident may result.

What can I buy for 100 FreeOnes points?
So she was misdiagnosed by the obstetrician, who said it was too early for her to be in labor?

I wonder if they are going to sue that OB/GYN?

When I was gonna be born my mom was turned away from the hospital 3 times on the same day. The third time that they told her to go home because her doctor wasn't in and she wasn't due for another 7 weeks she leaned against the wall and slid down until she was sitting on the step of the doctor's office. Seeing how stubborn she was they admitted her into the hospital, only to find out that they had been stupid enough to turn her away when she had already gone into labor.

^ yes thats me!
Wow sounds like bureaucracy at its ultimate outcome. If the woman is 'in established labour' they can 'phone the hospital. "Oh, ehllo, yes, ummm, terribly sorry to interrupt. Um, ah, yes I do think the little wifey might be in labour"
"Is she writhing in pain...ahh...darling, how are you? Are you alright?"
