Well considering that he hasn't even been in office for a year yet, I'm unsurprised that the economy isn't "fixed" yet. Furthermore, the majority of substantive issues that people want to be addressed have to be done through Congress. So the most he can do is to lobby both houses to expedite the rate at which they pass legislation. If people were to look at the issues in which he has sole control over, they would be very pleased (albeit if they are liberal). He already reversed prior executive orders that banned federal funding for stem cell research, and reversed the Mexico City policy. He closed Guantanamo (although the issue of detainees is far more complicated than simply that), reversed aspects of the Cuba embargo, imposed the most stringent ethics restrictions on White Employees ever, and was able to get Congress to push through a Credit Card reform bill. Which is no small feat, given that many liberals have wanted to see that instituted since the 80's. And on foreign policy, his tone towards Iran has been pitch perfect so far

So yes, the matter of the economy will ultimately be the final barometer by how he his measured. However, failure to have legislation passed is the fault of Congressional Democrats
