I remember making one of those in Boy Scouts. It'd broil a hot dog nicely. I could see a larger, more refined version serving as a nice little oven.

It's not a bad idea. It would be a pain in an area that isn't always sunny. I hope somebody invents a 10 meter wide magnifying glass though. It would be more fun to use.
