Producing/selling a porn vid

Ok. Lets say (hypothetically) that I have an amatuer porn video that I made with a few girls a while back, and I think it could "potentially" be marketable. Putting legal matters aside for a moment.... what are the chances of me being able to sell this video to some studio or production company for profit?

I doubt it, these studios usually want to make their own work. For many reasons, legal mainly.

The only chance you got of putting this video out there is to put it on some amature home video site. You won't get profit though, i don't think.

indeed. since traci lords, and other young'ins that snuck their vaginas into porn, the companies are real careful to verify not only the age of the girls involved, but the date of filming. i believe there permits and record processes that must be filed first. unless its before like '90 something.

you might be able to make it on some sort of amateur compilation type video, im not sure. you license it yourself and try to make it solo. id throw some emails out there and see what kind of response you get. or at least a point in the right direction.

i actually do a really small low time semi-free amateur thing somewhere and then people hit me up for more. 5 bucks here, 5 there. and its fun! uh oh, the secrets out!~

Putting legal matters aside is difficult, but ok.

You still probably wouldn't get very far.
Your video doesn't contain any stars that anyone cares about (well, just a guess) which means no selling point.
And i doubt the filming is the highest standard, eg the lighting, the camera itself, etc (but i could be wrong).

Like i said, putting it on an amature website, or even just putting naming it "hot sex scene" and posting it on kazaa are your best options.

As for making any money/getting it properly distributed, you have about 0.1% chance...

Is it really that hard to make money off a porn vid? I mean, lets say I've got some quality stuff... And maybe not any "porn starlets" but suppose the girls in the vid are star quality, or stars in the making?

I wouldnt expect it to be easy, but surely with a great product you should have more than a 0.1% chance Independent films in Hollywood have better odds than that. Is there really no market for an independent porn film??

in order to have success, your video would have to have been shot with a good quality camera, have a good amount of length to it and edited skillfully, your best bet would probably be to sell the rights to your video to an actual production company..thats if they're intrested of course, and once you bring legal matters back into play i doubt that they would be.

Do you have model release forms signed .. are the models over 18 .. do you have documented proof of their age .. 2 pieces of photo ID .. no .. forget it then.
You can't put legal matters aside if you are hypothetically supplying content to someone who has internet presence.

where is a good place to find models ? is there a website? i have found some in the paper and craigslist but thay are not to good in my eyes
