John Ensign of Nevada, a leading conservative mentioned as a potential presidential candidate, admitted Tuesday he had an extramarital affair with a woman who was a member of his campaign staff. “Last year I had an affair. I violated the vows of my marriage,” Ensign said at a brief news conference. “It is the worst thing I have ever done in my life. I never got the whole Promise Keeper concept in the first place. If somebody wants to live their life a certain way with certain principles then they should just do it. Walking around and flaunting it just reeks of people that are trying to prove something to everybody else when they shouldn't. It's like to the people doing it that showing off their beliefs are more important than the beliefs themselves at that point.

I guess he was even calling for fellow Republican Larry "Airport Bathroom Stall" Craig to step down after Craig used a strange signal to request a spare square of t.p. in a public bathroom. He wanted Craig to resign, he wanted Clinton to resign - maybe it's time HE resigns???
