About Qama Zani

Video * warning... graphic ! If you get faint at the sight of blood, you better not watch.

Gitmo Gitmo Gitmo GITMO !, torture ! torture ! torture ! is all we heard for years and we're still hearing about it thanks to eric holder.
Did it ever occur to anybody that these ''guys'' ... better make that "folks", actually live for the pain ? hence - "martyrdom"
I don't believe that America, U.K. or Europe should accommodate the muslims with their radical religious driven abuse of children and self. Yeah ! That's all we need is free health care for these psychos after their self inflicted wounds become infected. Hell, I bet that they don't even sterilize those blades ....never !!

Hot Mega

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Once again for the faint of knowledge....torture is pain or suffering inflicted on someone against their will.

You're not being tortured if you voluntarily undergo it and have control over when it ceases. You're not being tortured if you willfully allow pain or suffering to be inflicted upon you OR you inflict it upon yourself.:wave2:

Compatible?? :uohs: But that's the problem with religiosity intertwined with cultural 'values' and fundamentalism. It's true:yesyes:: Ideology in command :my2cents:

I agree.

I suppose you could look down upon those parents who choose to cut the heads of their children because it's not something they chose to participate in. But you could also then flip that and apply it to every circumcision ever performed on a child without it's consent.

So what's the difference? Just because one is more socially acceptable than the other doesn't mean it isn't any worse.

You foo !

Oh, well, at least the children are having a good time.

As good a time as they have during baptisms and circumcisions.:glugglug:

Foo !

Seems like a mortification rite similar to those still practised by certain Catholics. Did no-one read The Da Vinci Code? :) There's lots of this stuff in Christian history as a method of penance and as a means to get closer to Christ. As far as I know wearing a cilice is still legal in the UK.

Adults can do whatever they want to themselves, but I don't like the sight of it done to children. As far as I know, no-one does it to kids in Western countries, so questioning its "compatibility" seems a little pointless.

It also seems a little silly to talk about denying people care for self-inflicted injuries. Should smokers be denied treatment? How about people who cycle without a helmet? What about the plain suicidal?

These are Shia muslims correct? I don't know, it's out there but you don't see many American muslims performing this stuff.

Mortification using flails or a crown of thorns aren't used much at all by Catholics. Even when it was more common, it wasn't a mainstream thing. It's hard to say if this is problematic, even with the drawing of blood.

Now if these folks were slaughtering a goat in Picadilly or cutting non-muslims than we'd have a problem. I put these folks in the same category as snake handlers, or the Phillipinos that have crucifications on Good Friday and Palm Sunday. The bloodletting is to commerarate and reenact the martyrdom of Ali, Muhammed's Grandson. The schism that followed that marks the break between Sunni and Shi'a I believe.

I wonder how the folks who killed Ali were able to get people to stick with them after what happened in Karbala? Wouldn't that show they were corrupt? Or did Ali have some failings of his own?
