This came to my mind today...

Is the term "White Power" racist?

And if so why is "Black Power" not?

Black power= let's assert our independence
white power= let's maintain control over the other party.

Although both are racist because they alienate the other.

Both terms are racist. The problem is, most Caucasian people refuse to come out and say it, because our society has become too politically correct and they are afraid they may come across as racist.

This reminds me a of a campaign that was staged years ago by the city where I live. The campaign was Stop black on black crime. The campaign was meant to stop black people from committing crimes against other black people, but the message itself implied that crimes against white people was okay.

I sincerely doubt that is what they meant. Sure, one could come to that conclusion, but that is kinda grasping at straws. Maybe, just maybe, they were trying to address the issue that nearly half of all violent crimes in this country are committed by black people and over 90% of those crimes are committed against other black people. Perhaps by getting people to address the black on black crime issue is an attempt to lower the amount of violent crime in general by promoting a sense of pride, brotherhood and general feeling of caring for your neighbor. I think it was Malcolm X who said "We can't have any peace between blacks and whites if we can't first have peace between the black community." Could have been someone else who said that, however.

My Mother's family came to the US from Italy to mine coal and my Dad's family were indentured servants form Ireland, so they had discrimination coming at them from both ends. So when I hear blanket statements about white oppression, white guilt, white power or black power, I start giggling uncontrolably.

Both slogans seem inherently racist to me.

I wish more people could evolve past identity/racial viewpoints... it reflects a small mind and small thoughts. :2 cents:

Black Power was initially a call to make Black Power equal to that of White Power. That dramatically changes the inherent racist content in the phrase. Calling to raise the rights of the Blacks to equality is not a racist statement.

However, it has ceased to mean that in common parlance. I don't believe either phrase is acceptable any longer.

Wrong. It doesn't imply anything of the sort.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with the term White Power. I bellow it everytime I cum.

I usually say "Hommina hommina, SHAZAM!" And then I cry for an hour.

A liberal will never say "I'm happy that I'm white" to them that's racist. But they will be more than happy to support a black or hispanic who says "Brown power" or "Black Power".

Sorry trident, but this is one of the stupidest things I have ever read. Way to pull out the "I hate liberals" card yet again. We all weren't clear on that.

Oh, and, by the way, clearly conservatives are nothing but tolerant and unbiggoted.

It's not "racist."

The majority of them will. A "power" parade of any kind is tolerated, except a white one.
