Question about a song

Connor Macleod

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
I've been seeing these commercials on the History Channel for a documentary called Gettysburg with a song playing in the background. It sounds similar to a song I heard once on CSI Las Vegas by a group called Death Cab For Cutie. Does anyone know the name of the song from the Gettysburg ads, or if it's the same group?

what the fuck you lookin at?
I dunno. But I set dvr to record that! Looks highly entertaining!

Entertaining isn't exactly the word that I would use as it's about one of the darkest moments in American history. Educational, informative, etc.

Here's the Within Temptation version of Running up that Hill.

Anyone else ever actually been to Gettysburg? I grew up 40-50 miles from there, so I pretty much saw the sites inside & out. Never saw any ghosts or paranormal activity though, though I've been on the battlefield well after dark,.....but there are stories.

Whenever I hear the original, it makes me think Placebos and Within Temptation's versions are 100% better.

I worked at a juvenile facility up at South Mountain in 2001 for a few months before escaping to the Florida facility. Since I was so close to Ghettysburg, it would have been a shame to never make it there. :)

Did a candle light ghost story walk. Lots of entertaining (and sad) stories but no ghosts.

I did one of those too...like I said though, no ghosts for me that time either. Like you said, definitely lots of sad stories though.

I've been to Gettysburg, but never at night.

Awesome, Thanks!

I'll give you a rep as soon as the board will let me. :D

I didn't care for that version, but I am a fan of new covers and remixes. My favorite remix is the Richard Vission vs. Dave Aude Radio Edit version of Hilary Duff's song, With Love.

but i prefer placebos version by far
I have to agree. It's amazing how much Placebo and Death Cab For Cutie sound so much alike. I thought it was the same singer, but I looked on a couple of sites, and it seems they're different. Anyhow, below is the DCFC video that made me think they were the same group. The song is called Pity and Fear.

And if you have an iOS device (or Android, I think) the SoundHound app will become your best friend... if you're like me and hear great tunes, but can't remember the lyrics until the next exit. :D
