Raise the debt ceiling, Yes or No?

Master Roshi

All hail the FO Cult Mother!
naw there was no surplus, that was what the people were told but in truth that national debt still climbed under Clinton and the social security trust fund was looted heavily under his watch, then Bush came in and the looting continued

@ChrisFreemanX
and it is good to see the Elizabeth Warren wants to reinstate it and you say the right has started flaming her but my question is why hasn't anyone else from the left called for its reinstatement, why hasn't Obama mentioned reinstating it, mind you I do not support the left or right, they are just the left and right wings of the same eagle IMO, but if these political pundits on capitol hill were serious, they would all be screaming to reinstate banking regulations that have but they won't IMO because 90 percent of them have to answer to their donators who got them into that position and who are their donators? corporations, banks and companies with money, not the average person

You really should do some research before making assumptions and proclamations. I don't want to paste the entire thing, but here's a list of representatives and senators that support reinstating Glass Steagall-

gonna need a lot more than that xfire, but that is a good list to see, remember the money powers do not need to buy all of them out just the majority, what did JFK's dad say, "I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for a landslide" and believe me xfire the research on the money never stops

yeah I gotta give Larouche respect, that man has been through hell and high water fighting for so many years, 91 years old and his mind is as sharp as ever

Making a general statement against something doesn't mean much, signing on as a co-sponsor is significantly more, but I agree, until they campaign on it, run national ads on it, and wage war against it, they could always do more. But it does address your implied contention that Elizabeth Warren is the only one speaking out, and if you look closely that list is inhabited, probably 99% by Democrats. No, the parties aren't the same.

I never said every single person in either party answered to the same authority but if just do a little bit of research on who has funded the present and past US presidents on both sides you will see the same donors for both sides at different times and the same can been seen for congressman and senators, and this tells me that whoever funds them the most is who they will take care of first and foremost, when you really start to follow the money you can connect many dots

and yes that list is dominated by DEMOCRATS but Larouche, who is a DEMOCRAT, has been calling for the impeachment of DEMOCRAT obama for the last few years now

There's no question that big money has too much influence. Republican appointees on the Supreme Court passed "Citizens United" and made it worse. There's new legislation the GOP is pushing that will make Citizens United look like child's play. You can follow the money, and you can also follow the votes. I don't buy into conspiracy theories, One World blah blah, big money has had different motivations for supporting both parties over the years.

Will strip for money!
Planned or unplanned, I think Obama enraged the Republicans and typically people who let their emotions run them, loose. Many Republicans seemed pissed off that Obama was elected (insert generic racial comment here) beyond the normal loss of the election. Then for 2 years Obama and the Democrats took advantage of the super majority. From my perspective, this killed Obama's chances or being an effective leader who can work with the opposition (From my perspective, Fail Obama. This is what I pay for). The part of the Republican party see nothing but red and run their policies and behaviors by driving unrealistic and symbolic acts. (Fail Republics. I don't want to pay for that crap.)

There is a very big difference between the 2 parties. One has many wealthy people willing to pay more for a better quality of life. One wants to squirrel their money and live a life of greed and disregard for anyone other than their peers and people with their economic and social status. of course there are the uneducated religious republicans on welfare and unemployment and disability who don't know any better. but the ones who's voices are the loudest are the ones who don't want to give a penny of their money for anything or anyone, unless it's a war. then they have a blank check.

there are more registered democrats who are millionaires than republicans. many people don't realize that. but the left is willing to part with their money to help less fortunate people survive. now georges will come blasting in and say that the left is all rappers who do drive by shootings in the ghettos of south central throwing gang signs. but that isnt true.

if this were true then clinton would have never signed off on the dismantling of Glass Steagal, but he did because that was what he was instructed to do by his backers, Summers and Rubin
