Did you go to a link provided somewhere in a thread?

I use Norton for antivirus, Spybot S&D, Spyware Blaster, and Malware Bytes. Also, McAfee SiteAdvisor to let me know if a website is dangerous or safe to go to.

Must've been a careless click on a link in the ID section. Spybot and a repair scan for Windows XP did it at last (after the third attempt)

Try getting McAfee SiteAdvisor. If you are unsure of a link, put the main wwwsite [generic example] name.com into google and it will let you know if it has pop ups or other nasties. Some sites get under the radar, but it drastically keeps computer safe from malicious sites. Also it protects from redirects and loop sites. 99% effective in keeping safe
