I heard part of Graham's speech last night. For being brave enough to step out of the neocon ranks (just a tiny bit), I say good on him. I think he was 100% right on Beck, being more of a cynical showman than a person with a vision for the future. But Graham has also slammed Ron Paul for his libertarian views in the past. And he was pretty much Mr. Patriot Act when Bush/Cheney were busy protecting us from the Boogeyman. To me, he's just another neocon/Fundie. But at least he's got enough guts to take on a hero of the lunatic fringe that's going to completely destroy the GOP sooner than later. He slammed the crazy Birthers pretty good, and even admitted that some of these loons are racists and nutjobs. So I have to give him a high mark for breaking from the ranks of the blissfully (willfully) ignorant.

I have no idea what his motivation is. Like I said, he's gone after Ron Paul and libertarians in the past. And while he has had his goofy moments, he's not as much of a goose-stepper as some on the Evangelical right. Maybe Beck said something that flipped his switch. Maybe he got tired of catching flak because of ridiculous comments from an alcoholic who wears "magic underwear". Who knows? :dunno:

But I'm not sure that Graham is high enough on the GOP totem pole to really make a difference in the eyes of most independents. I mean, he's not being set up to run for national office as far as I know. But maybe he will be a front man for someone who is, and what you think could be true. Dunno...

Have you ever listened to the shit that is on the radio? These talk show guys seem to me to be flirting with clinically insane. Glen Beck probably being the worst. He may think he represents the "republican" party but in all honesty he is destroying it with the babble and garbage he presents every day.
