Yeah, because the most important members are the ones who sign up, make a few posts in the ID thread, and never come back. Clearly, they're in the upper echelon of importance at FO. And anyone able to ID a girl taking off her clothes for money deserves all the rep in the world.

I know the winners of the previous 41 Indy 500s in chronological order. Nobody reps me for that. If arbitrary knowledge is a premium, I'd like to be recognized.

So here's another question to everyone, including those who voted no. What if we replaced rep with the "thank you" system that was mentioned in some post above? I've seen it on other boards, but I'm not a member of a board that actually uses it so I don't know if you keep track of thanks given to you anywhere.

If you go that route I might suggest, if possible, that you make it so the people that thank a person or like the post don't show up unless something is clicked to make it so. That way threads don't become twice as long listing all the people that liked the post under where that post is at. At some messageboards it has a way of getting out of hand.
