Why didn't her neighbours take the effort to check on an elderly woman. The trash wasn't getting emptied and they didn't notice for months??? Those neighbours must have known the house was still occupied if they eventually went to investigate. Neither did the mailman think to ask neighbours if someone was still living there.

These days some people are too wrapped up in their own selfish little worlds. They tend to not notice anything unless it directly effects themselves.

A sad story. RIP

The mail person prolly just took it for granted that the home was just anther abandoned foreclosure judging by the way the housing market has gone as of late.

I guess that's one of the benefits of living where I do where a lot of people know each other in the community and the mailman knows who you are and people are often on friendly terms and interact with them.
