Who even remebers Pacino's performance in that movie.

DeNiro is the better actor. His roles in Raging Bull and Taxi Driver amaze me in a way that not many other performances ever have. In fact, I put DeNiro right behind Marlon Brando as the best American actor ever.

I think Pacino has a better range. Insomnia, The Insider and The Merchant of Venice were all VG, particularly I liked The Insider which also featured Russell Crowe. I also liked him in the first Godfather.

They're both damn good, but I would say De Niro is slightly better.
But when they were in Heat sitting across from each other, that was fantastic. I didn't want that movie to end.

Bobby D is my pick for better actor, but both are my favorites.

It's a shame that these guys are getting up there in age. For those of us 25-40ish years old, these guys the Humphrey Bogart's of our movie era. I have to say that I think we've seen the best work from both of these guys, which makes me kind of sad, but it's great to know there are so many good movies from both of these actors.

De Niro get's my vote. I love Pacino, but IMO he almost single handedly ruined 'Heat' with his ridiculous overacting. De Niro saved that movie.

Yeah, i have also seen the movie, although i think the movie is quite good. I choose for De Niro, although i think Pacino is also a good Actor.

I think De Niro. He really puts a lot of effort into his characters: Cape Fear, Untouchables, Raging Bull. AND - he is really funny in Meet the family and Meet the Fockers!

even if de niro is a bit more versatile in playing sensible characters as perfect as the unsensible ones, it's an unfair question. both actors are in the same league "the best of the best". there is no need to raise one above the other.

edit: forgot to mention there is only one league better: johnny depp his own league.

DeNiro!! but neither should stray far from action/drama. DeNiro AND Pacino both make me uncomfortable when they try to get in touch with their inner comedians.
