I don't know what doctors get over there. The salaries I quoted were for General practitioners - the ordinary family , non hospital based local ones.It makes a lot of sense to pay a general rate for this sort of service.
Bear in mind that part of the package is an inflation proof pension (half pay) plus 3 years' salary as a lump sum on retirement so remuneration is quite reasonable.
It is, I believe a 7 year course to qualify

Got it :hatsoff:

People decry socialization but these same people freely accept socialized protection in the form of police depts. and fire depts...while they send their children to public schools.
Sure, but ''these same people'' didn't expect to become overwhelmed and ultimately domineered by socialism, they prefer limitations on the reach of government and they want to make their own choices with the money that they don't have to pay in higher tax rates.

From a conceptual standpoint
... that is precisely how hr 3200 is written, it's all legislative jibberish :spump: :hatsoff:

Hot Mega

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.

I tend to agree. The only pause I have over government subsidized health care insurance is the prospect of ninnies meddling in the personal lifestyle choices of the individual.

Here's the thing though, you can only worry about your tax dollars as long as you have an income. If you don't have an income and there were no public means of education, relative security against criminals and threat of fire destroying your property...what would you propose in a sophisticated society?

I mean it is a promising argument to suggest that if an individual had their tax dollars they could then provide for themselves....many do anyway in spite of it. The question is what happens when you don't nor have the savings?

I always go back to the public education comparison. It's a little more clearer with the public education example as health insurance isn't something that is relied upon daily like education. Whereas many people make do without insurances of all types by crossing their fingers so the daily impact of not having it is not necessarily felt. Until they're involved in accidents that require emergency care and are then drowned in medical debt.

If there were millions of people who found their children missing semesters and years of education simply because the family lost a job and could not afford it temporarily, the impact of such a circumstance would resonate more with people IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to a limited degree of "socialism" e.g. social security, public education, fire, police, housing, public works, roads & highways, County hospitals, libraries etc. but those things are for Americans, not some 12 - 40 million non American citizen / future democratic party electorate hopefuls (uh huh :yesyes:) who reside here at the expense of the taxpayer as well as social services going bankrupt.

Listen, I maintain that Mexico is the 12th wealthiest nation in the world last checked about 8 months ago, for why doesn't the Mexican government employ a little socialism into their mix instead of killing us ever so..s l o w l y ?.. Are these our allies ? :1orglaugh Sure, allies to the Washington elites maybe, but surely not to the American people.
