Roomba - who has one?

i'm moving next month and the place where i'm going has really nice carpet. i was thinking about getting a roomba but am worried about 2 things:

- can it climb on top of another carpet (like an area rug)?
- does it get confused by chairlegs?

if it cannot handle these things then coverage isn't close to 100% and for the money i'd be better off buying a normal vacuum cleaner.

Fuck the rest, Freeones is the best!
They actually work really good esp their new models.. The company that makes them actually makes robots for the military too so I think it can handle your carpet just fine

i know they make military robots, but i also know the roombas will turn around when they hit something (like a wall) and then drive off in a random direction. so chairlegs should mean that it will never clean between them... i can put the chairs up before going to work, but will it clean the top area rug or turn around at the border?

It will go over rugs and it will go in between chairs as long as it fits

I have no opinion
well thank you, i think i'll be getting one then.

Just remember that the Roomba is just a carpet sweeper, not a vacumn. Gets a lot of the surface dirt and some of the lower stuff but does not go and pull up deep carpet dirt. Must be used often to be effective. I still like ours despite this.
