Stick with Freeones
.... MALE and FEMALE!

Now, I realize that this is a porn board.
As such, we deal a lot with lovely boobs, vaginas, penises and balls.

As a healthcare provider and advocate, I deem it my responsibility to post this question:

When was the last time you went for:

Males: Testicular and/or Penile exam?
Females: Pap smear and/or breast exam?

I can probably imagine a few of you doing a *groan* right about now.

But please bear with me....

If there are any "truisms" in healthcare, they would be:
* Time is "gold".
* "Prevention" is FAR better than "cure".

If all my years in healthcare have taught me something - you can never go too early for one of these tests!

Boys and girls, it is this simple:

* You all need to learn how to do the self-tests yourself.
* The sooner you learn and the sooner you make it a habit to do 'em yourself, the better.

"Why?", you ask?

Well, simply because:

1. Starting at a young age makes it easier to establish a good habit
2. Starting at a young age means that you are more likely to form a good "map" of your sexual organs.

Don't laugh! I'm being quite serious! There is nothing "odd" or "weird" about feeling up yourselves to detect an abnormality.

How many of y'all know every "little bit" about your boobs/balls ?

The point being - the earlier you start, the better your chances of "learning what your normal" organs "feel like". You'll develop a more clear picture of what "they should feel like when I put my fingers here" etc.

Thus, as the years progress, you will spot an "abnormality" sooner than if you wait for "yearly checkups".

These "preventative" tests can be rather easily performed at home (except for the pap smear of course!). If you are unsure about how to do them, refer to these websites:

Male testicle exam (Many thanks to Kaiser Permanente)
Female breast exam (Many thanks to breastcancer.org)

If you are still unsure/uncomfortable - talk to your healthcare provider. I'm sure they have resources available.

This is a humble request from an old healthcare provider.

cheers,
R.

Good post. I'm nominating this one.

I have tried testing myself, but to be honest i don't know what i'd be looking for. I can't feel any lumps so i figure i'm all clear...

ive never had a complete physical. ive never been checked out period except for whatever arose. ie. infections, tears, sprains, etc. i had thought about it, but i really dont want to see what my lungs look like.

ive never ever been, but have been thinking about it.
Squally! Seeing that your post was the inspiration for this one - I really do urge you to get a test done.

Trust me - it ain't as bad as it sounds!

A. You're a LADY!!! Always thought you were a guy :o :1orglaugh

B. Aye! I hear you about the "unpleasant" business! I mostly tailored my message to the pre-menopausal women. Of course, once you hit menopause, there is a bigger and bigger need for mammograms (doesn't mean you should wait TILL menopause before getting one!

Good post. I'm nominating this one.
Thanks Dave! :)

Again! Ladies and Gents!

My sole purpose is to highlight the simple fact that:

1. There is a simple procedure you can perform - boy or girl - that will help you identify problems very early on.
2. That this procedure takes you about 10-15 minutes. You can spare 10-15 minutes of your life every month, can't you?
3. I wish to emphasize the importance of starting as early as you can in you life - the earlier you start and make it a habit... the easier it will be for you to detect a problem early on... LATER in life.
4. Those of you member on this board who are old foggeys like me --- no harm done. Get yourself to your doctor ASAP and have him/her do an exam. Then have him/her teach you how to do it yourself. Remember - it is never too late to start!

cheers,
R.

I'm always on top of all that stuff for myself. I once reminder in a thread here for the guys to remember to get a colon test. About how important it was and was hung by my garters. :dunno: Homophobia set it immediately, such a bad reaction to something so important.:(

Maybe from you a better response? Nice Post.

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
I do check myself out once or twice a year. Not only there but parts of my body that I can't see very well like my back and parts of my face because my father developed cancer there. I haven't had a professional give me a physical in a long time because of the expense though. I have never had any scans done for the same reason and also because I have never felt or noticed anything wrong enough to have a need for them.

If FreeOnes was a woman, I'd marry her!
I scratch them every morning when I get up for the last god knows how many years. So I think we are on first name terms :D

He means your OWN balls...;)

Last gynecological exam was last summer, so I'm due for one soon. Although I sometimes go more than once a year, because I have irregular periods, and sometimes need medication to help start them.

Fuck the rest, Freeones is the best!
I learnt very early on in life about the importance of checking "ones Testicles" after suffering a severe blow to the "cods" during a Rugby game.... I have not missed my yearly checkup since.

Exellent advise Roughneck.

God damn it, Baconsalt!
Guys, I recommend checking your balls for lumps in the shower every month or so. I'm not joking. This is genuine advice.

The sad thing is that men really need to watch out for breast cancer as well, as men DO and have gotten it.

Great thread, imo, Roughneck.

Males: Testicular and/or Penile exam?

I have never been or ever thought about this. I am pretty sure that I probably will not go fpr a very long time.

Every thing seems to be working in perfect order down stairs.

well... except for theses brown spots I have been getting lately:D

Thank You for the request. I had a scare once when I was only sixteen & felt a lump on my right breast. Then on, I have done the self test periodically (at least once in two months). Yearly I go for a Doctor for the check-up. Pap smear once in a year.

dd doesn't care for self-test, dumb.

I care very much honey. Ask me to test yours, and I will do that, any time you want. You can do mine. :D
