Running DVR on its side?? Yah or Nah

To save room in entertainment center I had to put my DVR on its side. Since, it doesn't seem to perform quite as well as it should. Opinions???

even if you could, I've found that PS2, PS3 and the 360 all seem to last longer leaving them flat. I'm sure your DVR, which isn't even meant to be stoon on end would work far better left flat.
