Beer is like a natural part of everydays meals.
I remember a holiday in the 'Fränkische Schweiz' (The northern part of Bavaria, in the triangle of Bayreuth, Bamberg and Coburg).
There are hundreds of beer breweries, and a lot of homebreweries among them.
The specific occasion was the opening celebration of 'Kati Bräu', an old lady who made some couple hundred litres every year.
We sat at a table and next to us sat a family of three locals.
Daddy had a full 'Mass' (A litre tankard)
11-year old son only had an 'Halbe Mass' (Half a litre)
