School yearbook puts Bush and Cheney on list of 'worst 5 people of all time' (alongside Hitler, Bin Laden and Charles Manson)


A middle school yearbook has listed former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney among the 'worst people of all time' - ranking them alongside Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden and Charles Manson.

Printed in the yearbook for students at Russellville Middle School in Arkansas, the list has prompted furious responses from parents and staff.

Faculty members stuck black tape across the offending page in a last ditch attempt to save face but parents are furious about the gaffe, which aligns the former president with some of the most evil men of all time.

Nazi leader Adolf Hitler topped the list, followed closely by former Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden, who was killed last month by U.S. troops in Pakistan.

Third worst of all time was notorious serial killer Charles Manson, with George W. Bush in fourth and Dick Cheney trailing in fifth place.

'My problem is the tape can be removed easily,' parent and school board member Chris Cloud told Newsnet5.

'I'm furious as a parent and as a board member and as a taxpayer and as a resident of Russellville. It's wrong.'

Staff insisted the list was not a reflection of views at the school.

Teachers said the students had not voted on who they thought were the 'worst people in the world' but rather had taken the information from an independent poll published by a website.

Superintendent Randall Williams said the list was an 'oversight' and expressed surprise when told the quick-fix tape could easily be pulled off by kids at the school.

'Well that's disappointing because the yearbook supplier told us this was a definite fix,' he said.

The yearbook editing process is now under review, according to Williams after the woman in charge of the book did not spot the offending list when she sent it to the printers.

'I think it's just hard to explain, and I've talked to the sponsor and she is very very very upset about it,' he said.

'That she didn't pay any attention to that particular part of that particular page. I think she maybe just scanned the whole page and went on.'

But the article states the student body didn't actually vote on this.
Seems pretty harsh to slam a whole generation :dunno:

But I could see how middle schoolers, from their limited perspective, might have a very low opinion of Bush and Cheney. If you're a middle schooler we've been at war virtually your entire life. Death tolls and terrorist alerts dominated the news. Lots of kids have lost relatives in those wars. Then around age 10 to 12, with Bush still in office, we experienced the worst economic downturn since the great depression, and its subsequent repercussions. So growing up under Bush/Cheney was anything but good times, that's for sure.
