They're not sneaky. They are dumb. Plain and simple. Senator Shelby pulled an "Arlen Spector" (in reverse) long before Spector did. Shelby was voted in as a Democrat Senator from Alabama but then switched to Repub in 1994 in order to..well...be a part of Newt Gingrich's "revolution"? :dunno: He is another Republican Senator in love with his power, fame and self, basically.

Senator Shelby will say anything to get elected. He, himself, has been indoctrinated into the "blame Obama for everything, forget or ignore Dubya" mindset that the Wackoes are going to go with for the 2010 elections. Alabama, and the South, is at the bottom of education spending and competence in the country. He can just sell his electorate on a bunch of fear-induced bullshit and win....
