Shane (born Shannon Hewitt December 16, 1969 in Simi Valley, California) is an adult film director and actress known for creating the Shane's World series of adult videos.
During her earliest years as porn actress, Shane was romantically involved with Adam Glasser (also known as Seymore Butts) but the relationship ended when Glasser took up in 1995 with a new protege, Taylor Hayes. After Glasser split with Hayes during 1997 in a bitter breakup, Hayes thereafter starred in several films produced by Shane under the "Shane's World" label.
Shane married Bobby Fernandez-Hewitt, the drummer from the band Orgy, in 1997. He decided to take her last name at the time of their union. They had a son, Gavin, in 2000, and a daughter, Willow, in 2002.

Shane's World Studios is a pornographic film company started in 1996. It is one of the first companies to pioneer the reality style videos of adult entertainment. The company was originally started by Seymore Butts' ex-girlfriend Shane, who lent her name to the business. Shane sold the company a few years later after she decided to get married and leave the adult industry.
Shane's World movies revolve around taking porn stars out of their elements on trips to exotic or interesting locations and filmimg everything that happens in a documentary style. The premise of the studio's movies can be summed up as "The Real World meets gonzo style pornography". Shane's World has given many stars their start which helps to increase their fan base because of the intimate look fans are allowed into their personality. The company caters to the young couples and college aged market.
In 2003 Shane's World gained mainstream notoriety with the release of Shane's World 32: Campus Invasion. The media frenzy that followed that trip to a college campus landed the company on Dateline NBC , The O'Reilly Factor , Inside Edition, USA Today, Time Magazine and MTV News. Rolling Stone Magazine gave Shane's World a four page spread in their "100 Greatest Guitarists" issue. Shane's World also became the first adult company to be featured in an Abercrombie and Fitch catalog.
Due to the success of Shane's World 32, Shane's World decided that college campuses were an untapped market and so the College Invasion series began. College Invasion titles bring porn stars to college campuses to party with the students, and starting with volume 3, the college students often participate and have sex with the porn stars. The studio claims it gets hundreds of invitation letters a month from colleges across the country that wants them to come to their school. The series hit its 10th volume in November 2006.
The company has won several awards within the Adult Entertainment industry including Best Couples Sex video and Best Couples Sex series, as well as Most Sex-Positive Adult Company by the Sexuality.org awards. The studio has also been nomintaed many times for various AVN Awards.

You should still have no problem buying dvds of her movies, if you want.
One of the last things I heard about her was that she was going to start a new website, ShaneTV, or something like that. She was only going to be a host or behind the scenes. Not do any more work in front of the camera. Although, maybe some g/g work now that I think about it. Anyway, this was some time ago and I don't think the website was ever launched. Or at least I haven't heard anything more about it. My guess is she is completely done with porn.
