For me I think it should never have been banned !!

I dont really think that there would be a problem with it if it was legalized , I know people from all walks of life that enjoy nothing more than a nice big spliff when they get home or for recreational use , they dont start fights like drunks and they dont go breaking into houses to get money for there fix like herion addicts do , they work hard & earn there money , I think its wrong for this right to be criminalized plus just think of the money the governments could get from tax , even though they would probably just give it to banks to bail them out or more bombs so they could kill the innocent with or spend it on global warming instead of taxing us to the hilt , with stupid green taxes that we dont want or need !!!

After a hard days work I love coming home , getting in the shower , getting changed , having my dinner then having a big spliff with a cup of tea also I love being at music festivals enjoying the music and getting stoned , to me a joint just makes a good day even better !!!!!!!!!!

So whats your veiws?

Of course it should be legal for adults as almost all drugs should be.Govt should not tell ya what ya can drink smoke etc.

Pot is way less of a danger and harm to society than alcohol IMO.We tried banning that once, gangsters made a fortune.Same thing happening with other drugs now.

In the 70s when I first tried pot it was being decriminalized and we all thought we were headed for its legalization.Personally I think the reason that never happened is the beauracracies (police,DEA etc.) that earn thier living from being part of the so called "war on drugs" don't want to lose that.

Yes it should be. That way, pot heads will have absolutely nothing else to talk about, ever. Imagine the endless stream of bitching that ceases when they finally just shut the fuck up!

I agree with most of your post , but Im not sure the last bit, is the point though , if they legalized weed they could channel there time and energy into more destuctive drugs or even should I say it "human trafficing" which I think is a whole bigger problem than a little bit of weed :dunno:

It should be legalized. Alcohol has way more negative effects on society that pot ever will.

I need viagra!
There is so much pros and cons with weed being legalized. The drug dealers won't be too happy. I think the government will overcharge. The only good thing I can see about it is you can smoke it anywhere if they do legalize it. You don't have to feel paranoid about getting caught by the police.

Yes, it should be legalized. Think of how many criminals that would put out of business?

While human trafficing is of course way worse it is also much less pervasive.Just think if drugs were legal how much less people would be in jail, arrested etc.. A lot of the police and prison guards etc would be uneeded in such a case.

But just legalizing pot would not be enough,we need to legalize all of them. Its not that drugs don't do harm to people (they do) its that the harm to society from trying to outlaw and control them is worse, prohibition proved that I think.Alcohol is/was bad but prohibition (the cure) was even worse.

You can't legalize everything. Some people do not know how to handle themselves when they take drugs. And you cannot allow these people to become a detriment to others when they're high.

If I had a my Freeones account, I would have just gotten 25 points!
This is probably a question to which there is no right answer.Damned if you do , damned if you don't.
The argument is complicated by the fact that alcohol and tobacco are still legal.I's always difficult to make any argument with that background.Alcohol and tobacco do have enormous social costs-this would be the only justification for banning them and this was tried with alcohol in the 30s.Because weed isn't regulated nobody has any idea of its usage and therefore its effects.Analysis of weed does suggest it's considerably more carcinogenic than tobacco. It's clearly related to many other problems too , as is of course any drug.

But if you think about it , more police on the beat chasing real crimes , most prisons in most countrys are in overload so they wouldnt have overcrowded jails which means more murderers , kiddy fiddlers could spend all there sentence in jail instead of getting out early for good behaviour & yes I agree all drugs should all be legalized but I was just asking about weed , I can see reason why heroin & coke and other stuff could be kept illegal & Im no angel I love my mdma , K , coke and Im quite partial to LSD the odd time as well :D

Some (actually a lot lol) can't handle alcohol.Want to try prohibition again?
Alcohol is probably the most dangerous of all of them to society.Drunks kill people on the roads.Prohibition was brought on by temperance groups who talked about how drunk men beat/abused their wifes and children and that was all very true but prohibition still was terrible idea.

I don't really care about this enough to argue the merits of not legalizing certain drugs. Just suffice to say that it will never happen. Heroine, crack, cocaine, and probably even pot will never be legalized. I think that's the way it should be. Nothing I say will change your mind and nothing you say will change mine.

Mrs Jolly

You can't have everything! Where would you put it?!
No. We should also criminalize dirt, Sunshine and water and that way nobody will be able to grow it. Just think of how many new jobs could be created with a dirt enforcement ageny, a bureau of Sunshine and aqua cops. Of course they would probably need expanded powers too. And we would need more jails for all these new criminals. We would have more laws and that is always a good thing.

OH fuck yes. People shouldn't say no against something like this unless they can say no to drinking / tobacco. Those are clearly just as bad or even worst in most cases.
