So, the opportunity finally knocked...

And so on February 6th, along with six other people, I'll be going to stay overnight at one of the supposedly "real" haunted houses in America.

The house I refer to is the Villisca Axe Murder House in the state of Iowa where, in 1912, eight people were murdered in their sleep with- yes, you guessed it!- an axe.

Why this automatically makes the place haunted, I have no idea, but along with my cameras and hardy crew, I've been wanting an overnight at the place for a while now. For those curious, here's a link to the site:

I'm a skeptic, but I admit I would LOVE to experience something supernatural or paranormal while staying at the place. But the "evidence" listed on the site ranges from "so what" to downright laughable.

So we'll see if it's a boring night, or if I no longer post here because I've been committed to the madhouse.

That's pretty damned awesome. I love watching GHI and the other shows debunking or proving paranormal activities. Mostly because they get to go places the normal public don't get to see on tours...

Go for it, I am more into that story of the Ax House, because it's pretty much a 100 year old cold case that hasn't been solved.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I've always been amused by the notion that the ghost of the killer would be there, considering he killed everyone in the house, then moved on. The case was never officially solved, but the FBI guy (McLaughry) who was assisting the locals discovered a guy who was in prison for killing his mother and grandmother- he had been in several towns across the US, and this style of killing seemed to pop up in most of those towns, unsolved.

Now... I'm not Sherlock Holmes... but McLaughry may have been onto something there. He claimed he closed this case and numerous others because of this guy, but it was never officially recognized.

I expect nothing to happen, and it's correct that our own imaginations will probably be of more harm than anything paranormal. Anyone coming to the windows or leaping out of the gloom dressed as a ghost is likely to get shot. Just sayin....


I'm super stoked for this, and my crew is already looking for another place to check out in the spring. Woo!

As far as the haunted house I ran in the fall- well... that was a business fiasco, and I'm glad its over. This year, I intend to get started making good old classic horror flicks!
