I like how somebody goes out and finds some abnormal relatively isolated anecdotal evidence to use to try and support their case. (It's almost as bad as the people that try to claim global warming isn't happening because it was cold where they were yesterday.) Of course for that to work one would also have to conveniently ignore all the comparable incidences in the U.S. of which there is very VERY many. Not to mention one would have to conveniently ignore that burdensome fact there are people that end up dying here because THEY HAVE NO HEALTH INSURANCE...AT ALL.

...but hey, don't let rational thought or the truth get in the way of some mindless ideological belief or your own flimsy rationalization for your selfishness.

Try considering just for one second that your government might actually be trying to help you.

1. the US DOES NOT have "socialized" medicine. It would be great if we did, but what Obama presented in 2009 was the furthest thing from "socialism". Its capitalism at the end of the barrel of a gun

2. You can 'afford' a lot of things to support your citizens and country's infrastructure. Imagine what you could do with all the money the US is blowing on shit projects aimed at enabling corporate entitlement and the military. Reduce the military "budget" (not to mention what you pay for above that for VA expenses, the 3 on-going war theatres, etc) by half [and eliminate half of DC, as well] and you could create an entirely new and empowered Nation.

3. The one major thing lacking from Obama & the Dems proposition in 2009 was ......wait for it..... SINGLE-PAYER option. The reason health costs are so high is because of the very reason of 3rd party Insurance (Medicaid/Medicare) entities. If you were in the health industry you could see this as the growing trend since the 60s. Introducing 3rd party billing (especially with Medicare) is what jacked procedure rates to 3x their actual cost.
