Nice.

SARASOTA, Fla. – An Army staff sergeant home on leave in southwest Florida chased down a suspected bank robber and held him until authorities arrived.

Officials say Eddie Peoples was at a Bank of America branch in Sarasota with his two young sons Tuesday when a man walked in with a handgun and demanded cash from the tellers. Peoples told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune he sprang into action after the man threatened his sons.

Mega you gotta make your threads more appealing. No one wants to read anything unless there's a pic of a guy insanely waving a gun around, that's how simple we are I'm afraid. ps Although I applaud the guys actions was it wise for him to chase the robber after he had left, if he hadn't been armed with a toy gun those kids could be fatherless right now

As the robber points his gun, Eddie's two kids can be seen in the background sitting on two chairs

Family: Eddie with his two sons who were at the bank with him when the robber struck. He said the most important thing was to get them out of the line of fire

Courage: The 34-year-old was rewarded for his bravery by the Sarasota sheriff's office

I'll up the ante... Great Story!

In Uly's frame of mind, the better article would have featured the Army staff sergeant as being the bank robber and a 13 y/o girl on her bicycle . . . you finish the story. :1orglaugh

Cool story. For every story like this where a person risks his life to do what he thinks is right, there are about 4 stories about some assholes who continues shopping while some kid dies in the grocery store.

On another note, however, the funniest comment I read on that page was "THIS GUY WILL GET 20 YEARS FOR ROBBING Bank of America. Bank of America GETS 33% INTEREST WHILE ROBBING EVERYONE ELSE." :1orglaugh Fucked up but true.

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
I have to respect this guy, he pulled a Steven Segal Marked for Death martial arts remove the gun move on this bank robber.

I'm not big on trying to post pics anymore...not worth the no hotlinking harassment (I don't even eat hotlinks btw..).

I presume it was a judgment call on his part. On the flip side, there are plenty of fatherless kids in which the dad took actions with almost no risks...It's just all in the way the chips fall..there's no rhyme or reason on these things some times.

I've had problems posting pics myself but it is allowed in the first post and even better if they're from the article you are linking, I've now started using Hotchyx to upload images after the first post. A striking quote that makes little actual sense in the thread title can also help attract readers, ie 'I took him to war' :1orglaugh

Meh...I'm pretty much a no frills guy. I try to let the raw report do as much of the 'reporting' as possible when I post these things.

If people think them interesting enough to read fine...if not, fine.:dunno:

I'll occasionally post a pic from the story if it's a particularly great or funny pic..but I'll leave the story hyping to people like Anderson Cooper...:1orlaugh
