If I tried making a suit against companies here that turned me down because I didn't speak any dutch at the time, I'd have been laughed right out of the court room.

Very good point also. If speaking English is required for a job, then it is not discrimination to not hire someone who doesn't speak English. Speaking English is just a job skill the applicant doesn't have!

I wouldn't file a discrimination suit if I was turned down for a position where I would need to know Spanish!

What if they are liiving in any of the territory where Spanish was spoken long before the English speaking thieves arrived? That is, any of the territory stolen from Mexico--Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, California, Nevada, Utah, and a part of Oklahoma?

If you have lived here for more than a few years, intend to stay, and can't pass a simple drivers' test written in English....I don't know what to say.

This is one of the many straws that will eventually break the back of the US.

It's sad that people who move to English speaking countries feel they don't have to learn the language...
