It really is SHOCKING stuff from the linesman.

This could only happen at Old Trafford cant it?

Its funny seeing im an Arsenal fan but mad too b/c it regarded Man U.

Oh...to ppl that dont know what happened....the linesman DIDNT give the goal as he said the ball didnt cross the line.

They should introduce video ref's like they have in the super league (rugby league), it's happened to City alot of times and when it could mean the few points for a club surviving relegation and the millions of pounds they could loose by getting relegated it should only be right to spend the money and use the technology, starting with the premiership then working down to the championship then league 1 etc..

When I saw it for myself I was shocked the goal was not given. It was well over the line, no if's or but's about it!

The linesman is complaining that he wasn't able to get into position to judge whether the ball had crossed the line or not - I smell bullshit, that was disgraceful.

That is one of the worst decisions i have ever witnessed in my whole life. If it had been a Ryan Giggs shot which had crept an inch over the line, they would've given it. Every time something like this happens, it makes me think that the game is corrupt, the Rooney penalty which never was, the blatant handball in the Liverpool v Chelsea game. How can officials miss stuff like this???

There was roughly 68,000 people at this game and only 2 people didn't see it go over the line. If it had gone against Man Utd, Alex Ferguson would still have been going on about it next year.

Hey guys... i watch tons and ton of hockey games and baseball games, i saw a lot of bad calls... but that one is really stunning ! :eek: I thought you had video reviews for goals or offsides and penalty kicks... But hey... in the NFL they have video replays and bad call happens anyways...

Nope...we dont have that over here in Europe for soccer.

They just wont even take a vote to see what ppl want etc.

I'm all for video replays, however....how far do you go?

Do you just have it for top flight games or do you go down the leagues? If you just had it for say the Premiership, then fine. But when you start getting dodgy decisions in the football league (believe me, we get them every week) the fans and managers are gonna start asking for replays also.

I think video ref's should be in the lower leagues aswell as the premiership then maybe the rest of the world will take on the idea in football aswell, the problem with video ref's in the lower leagues however is that not all clubs will be able to afford the technology especially the ones in administration (ie: Notts county, Wrexham etc...)

I'm sure the traditionalists would oppose video replays, but I think if you only used it to determine whether or not the ball crossed the line then it'd be OK.

If they started using it on other things, like offsides and handballs, well, then that might be changing things too much, and I can see how that would disrupt the flow of the game.

no no no no video refs!!!! that would slow down the game too much! there should be a cyclops like in the tennis to tell when the ball is completely over, that would register to the 4th official or linesman who can tell the main ref that it has crossed over.

As a devoted Spurs fan, Jax, you can only imagine the pain and suffering I have gone through since that fateful evening.

If we miss out on a European spot (which was unlikely anyway) by a point I will personally write to Tony Blair and demand action !!!!

Instead of video refs there experimenting in putting microchips in the actual football and sensors on the line, to work out if the balls crossed the line!

Seeing i dont like Spurs ...i wanted them to win this game and any other game they play against Man U.

Im also a Spurs fan and im still very angry, I was at the game and was sat almost in line with it, the Man U fans went into stunned silence as everyone knew it was a goal, apart from the ref and linesman that is.

I know what people mean when they say Technology should be used but come on.... that was so far over the line, technology shouldnt be needed to see that!!

Most fans I know are more disturbed at Carrolls reaction, he looked at the linesman after it happened and smiled, cheat!! The record books say we got a point at Old Trafford but ask any Spurs fan, and any Man Utd fan and deep down they all know we beat them 1-0 in their own back yard.
