In your scenario, I would probably leave it alone, but watch it carefully, I dont like spiders at all, and I am much more afraid to kill it, than just leave it alone.

If one is in the shower or something like that, I will wash it down the drain. If on tile floor I will kill it because I know I can smush it rather than just mat into the carpet.
