Stiglitz- easier to get rich in Europe than the USA

America has long prided itself on being a fair society, where everyone has an equal chance of getting ahead, but the statistics suggest otherwise: the chances of a poor citizen, or even a middle-class citizen, making it to the top in America are smaller than in many countries of Europe. The cards are stacked against them.

Where did everyone go?
Interesting that they just noticed the ossification of class structures in the USA. This has been going on for decades.

That is because reporters want to keep their jobs, and the papers and the tv companies belong to the top 1%.

Same here in Europe. It's just now that the internet really took off and reporters with a backbone are taking the opportunity to create their own little newsstations in the blogs and so on.

We have 'soziale Marktwirtschaft', generally, but the random job culture is on the rise since years. Even the civil services and the army are relying more and more on jobs via labour leasing.

And that is not only very convenient for companies, because they just buy human material for as long as it is needed, it keeps the workers in a permanent state of fear, if they show criticism, their asses are back in unemployment, and they are on the blacklist.

Interestingly enough, our chancellor, Angela Merkel, was raised in the eastern part of Germany, and we can assume, she learnt how to put the people down so they don't disturb Big Brother.

Just now Big Brother has learnt how to look cooler and how to medicate the masses.
