Seth is the ultimate cheese character but he's a beast to play as and I can see people abuse using him online.

Yeah, try fighting Seth with Dan on medium or higher. I just gave up on that for now.

My mains are Cammy and Ryu but I use Ken, Akuma, Fei Long, Dan, and Sakura as well. Now that I've finally learned how to do the charge character's supers and ultras I'm starting to use Chun Li and Guile as well.

I must be the only guy who uses Gen online, I honestly haven't seen anyone play him besides myself. Anyways my ranked match records are horrible. I played for the first time yesterday and got viciously schooled. I lost more matches than I won, but I did score a couple good victories....

It took me a while but I've finally gotten my thumbs to move fast enough to do "Charge Back 2 seconds, Forward, Back, Forward + Button". Same thing with Akuma, I can now do his "Raging Demon" super and ultra with ease. The only problem with it now is trying to land it on someone because you can see it coming a mile away. Pretty much what I do now with the charge characters and Akuma is go in to training with them everyday so that I don't lose the ability to move my thumbs really fast.

Try doing the combos in Challenge Mode...F*CK! I've only made it to challenge 3 or 4.

Anybody know a sure fire way to unlock Gouken? I've tried so many methods and still haven't unlocked him (I've got everybody except for Seth and him). I beat the game with Akuma first too.

After beating the game with Akuma you have to go back and beat it again. This time beat the game with at least 2 perfects, 3 ultra finishes (must be ultra finishes), and no continues. Gouken should then come to challenge you after your fight with Seth. Just beat him and he is unlocked. I ended up having 5 perfects and 8 ultra finishes just in case. Also put 3 rounds on to give yourself a better chance at the perfects, ultras finishes, and no continues.

i got all the other characters and now Im trying to get akuma. I had no continues with 2 perfects and 3 ultras but I lost one match (not a continue) and I didnt get to fight him. Is it because I lost that one match? Also if you lose to akuma can you retry him or does it just end?

This is the method I used courtesy of sodaboy581 on IGN.com:
Step 1: Unlock everybody with the exception of Akuma, Gouken, and Seth.
Step 2: Set Difficulty to Easiest, Rounds to 1, Timer to 99, and beat the game USING SOMEONE YOU'VE ALREADY CLEARED THE GAME WITH PREVIOUSLY without continuing. Get at least 2 perfect rounds but do NOT use more than 1 ultra finisher(just trust me, it makes this easier).
Step 3: After beating the game on easiest without continuing and getting your perfect rounds, Akuma will challenge you. Defeat him to unlock him.
Step 4: Clear the game with Akuma with whatever difficulty, rounds, and timer you wish.
Step 5: Start the game again AFTER clearing it with Akuma USING SOMEONE YOU'VE ALREADY CLEARED THE GAME WITH PREVIOUSLY. Set difficulty to Easiest, Rounds to 3, Timer to 99, get at least 2 perfect rounds and 3 ultras. YOU MUST BEAT THE GAME WITHOUT CONTINUING. (I'm not sure about the number of perfects and ultras, but I got more than 2 and just did as many ultra finishers as I could, since it was in Easiest and super easy to land them.)
Step 6: Gouken will challenge you after nailing Seth. Defeat him to unlock him.
You CANNOT unlock Gouken without having had unlocked Akuma first and beaten the game with him.

Cool, thanks for the info! I just unlocked him and he is now my new main lol! His ultra combo drains over half health. But he takes hits like a girl.

I need serious help with this game, I fucking SUCK at it.
I sit there with the command list in front of me and none of them do shit, unless my controller is broken. I've only completed arcade mode ONCE and that's because I chose Dhalism and just used his long range punch over and over. I try a bit of button bashing, but I just get my ass beat down.
It's a shame because it is a beautiful game. But I'm starting to think I might get a refund.
