Strippers: who cares who has "power over who?"

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
was watching this series on netflix about strippers in scotland (what a depressing place) and one of the recurring themes was who actually has power over who?

Who cares? The strippers are providing a service and their clients are paying for it.

season 1 episode 1 Glasgow - check out Kim.

and had to turn on close caption as I couldn't understand what the fuck language they were speaking.

I love strippers. I go to clubs here and there whenever I need a pick me up. In fact, I almost went last night, but needed to get home to handle business stuff.

Honestly, after meeting a lot of dancers, you realize they are just like any other girl and I think it's easy to forget that. Most have other jobs, goals, a real life going on. When you take the time to treat them like a real person, you generally get a really great response from them.

Strip clubs can be quite addictive. There was a point in my life that I was able pick up a few chicks in strip clubs easier than regular bars. I didn’t have to spend all that much money if I bought drinks and got a few lap dances. Win/Win

Changed a few bank cards, credit cards, house keys, learned my body can live with only one kidney and most of all find out exactly how quick penicillin works. Aside from that win/win cos I'm still alive to post on FreeOnes.

I never lost a kidney. Not sure how strip clubs contributed to that. I had one bad experience bringing a chick home from a strip club. She stole 400 bucks and a watch.
I got to bang her first but I was pretty buzzed and left my wallet out where she could find it.
Dumb mistake.

Good point, I've noticed some people are obsessed with this 'power' thing, seems really strange to me

I think it's because we (in the western world) now live in a time when everything seems to come down to identity politics, especially when it comes to issues around gender and sexuality. So, in order to fit into the PC mold, it's very important for the mainstream media to depict women, even those in the sex industry, as being in a position of power... whether they're dancin' fo dollas or sucking a dick on film. As long as it can be presented in a way that suggests that the woman is in a position of power over the man, then the PC litmus test is passed. If not, then something very wrong is going on and the woman is a victim of sexual exploitation.
