Do you ever use the feature "Subscribe to this Thread" (which you can find at the bottom of each thread)?

I do sometimes. I use the email notification box when replying mostly.

I only use it on boards I visit like every few weeks or so.

Or a thread I make and want to keep track of on busy boards.

I've used it a few time, but they were on other sites.

I just checked the "Email Notification" option to try it out. The thing is, I could have sworn that in my User CP, I enabled the "Always notify me of replies" feature, but I don't think I've ever gotten an e-mail to inform me of a reply to a thread I'd posted in. (I've gotten e-mails to tell me about PMs, though.)

If this works, I guess I'll just get in the habit of checking Email Notification from now on.

nobody thanks for your message. I wasn't aware of the fact that there is a setting for this in "profile". A while ago I had turned this feature as default off, read: http://board.freeones.com/showthread.php?threadid=731&highlight=Email+Notification

I have turned it on again. Everybody who don't wants to received emails by default, please update your profile and disable this feature.

I use it to keep track of threads which I'm interested in, but may not have anything to say at the time.

I don't use it, and have chose in the profile area "options" to not have messages sent to me from threads I have viewed and posted to, but I am still getting email messages....just got another one right now.

you have to UNsubscribe to the threads of which the mailing thing is on for right now. This is not an overall setting.

ok, gotcha.

Before my computer crashed, I wasn't getting any notifications by mail, except private message notifications, which I chose. I haven't subscribed to any threads that I posted to since i've been back, so it threw me off. I will unsubscribe from the mailing when they come again....although, maybe it's working now, because I haven't gotten anymore email notifications since the last one I mentioned in my earlier message.

I haven't gotten any e-mails to inform me of the replies to this thread that have come after mine. I looked over my user options, and "Use 'Email Notification' by Default" is set to Yes, and the e-mail address in my profile is the correct one (which I already knew, since I've gotten PM e-mails and haven't changed my address since registering here).

This is a little odd, but it's not that big of a deal, since I usually remember which threads I've replied to anyway.

It really seems to work here. A couple of days ago I got a question from somebody what those email notification were. Therefore I believe it's working to outside email addresses as well. Maybe your mailbox is full?
