don't click this link!!!!
Why? It just gave me a white background and block box with nothing in it but some message about loading.

Of course, I'm running Firefox with Prefbar that has Popups, Java, Javascript, Send Referrer and Cookies turned off when I click any new link.

I use IE and it infected my computer with spywares/viruses. I got rid of them straight away.

Are you sure you got rid of them? Microsoft just recently admitted that more and more spyware are impossible to remove from Windows, and there is a widespread and false sense of belief that they are removable (let alone detectable).

E.g., I just had a briefing a few months back for us administrators with their core Enterprise/Government licensees. They covered the need for policies on containment and complete wipe of systems once they are infected. We already have such policies (my duties are almost always on systems are often segmented from general LAN access), but when Microsoft started detailing all of the issues they've personally had I didn't realize it was that proliferated.

The only constant security policy I've seen for home desktop users is the use of Firefox with various scripting disabled. I use Prefbar because I can turn things on and off very easily (such as Javascript which I like to toggle on for pages like Yahoo Mail and boards like FreeOnes). MS IE can and is constantly infected by countless sites, even when you turn security up and turn off all sorts of automation -- a few things cannot be disabled (or they would break core Windows servcies/interfaces).

It's those services that these sites go after -- and it gets no better with Vista / MS IE 7. It doesn't even look like "Vienna" (fka "Blackcomb" in the late '90s) will either. Only Microsoft's "Singularity" project is building a secure Windows, and will likely never become a reality because the existing MS IE and Office codebases would never run on it. If there is one constant to Microsoft, they never, ever re-write their tools and applications -- they buy and re-use everything.

Which is their core problem.

Gecko (Mozilla 5+/Firefox) was a complete re-write of Mozilla 4 (Netscape 4) and really addressed a crapload. Legacy Netscape 4 wasn't really any more secure, although at least it wasn't tied into core system libraries like MS IE is.
