Should she be released due to her brain cancer? I say no- its just the way she butchered those people as if she was skinning a cat alive- especially Sharon Tate, being 8 months pregnant. They did not die with dignity- she should not either. It was 40 years ago this very night- August 8-9, 1969.

Nope. Life means life. If you die in your cell from brain cancer, that's the way it goes.

You should have thought about that before you slaughtered all those innocent people. You're a monster....just desserts, babe.

I'm against the death penalty but I'm not at all opposed to you dying all on your own, Susie. Bye bye now....

Absolutely not, let her die in prison.
Like Jagger said life is life.

Looking to go where no FreeOnes member has gone before!
May she rot and burn in hell. As BlueBalls said, "life means life".

Karma's a bitch... or so I've heard.

If someone doesn't believe in the death penalty then they should have more compassion and believe in doing anything to save someone's life.

I believe in the death penalty, but the government messed up in this case. They commuted her setence to life, when it was death.
This is the government's fault

She has shown remorse and she is not a threat to anyone.
She should be released.

Jesus changed a murderer and made him a disciple. ;)

I don't believe in the death penalty but I think for heinous crimes terms ought to be met. The UK Justice Minister recently overturned the sentence of one of it's most notorious bank robbers on the basis of his deteriorating health.

Then Jesus can welcome her into his kingdom, the citizens of California don't need to let her into theirs.

Aren't most Californians crazy?

They should let her in. You know forgiveness is a good thing. ;)

I'm with ya on this one Willie. She's old and sick now.She can't be considered a threat at this point.Aren't the jails in California overflowing anyway.Save yourselves some money and let her out.

Maybe a better solution (and much cheaper and humane) is to put the murdering woman out of her misery. Sounds cold, but it's logical.

Thanks, at least someone is thinking. ;)

Euthanasia/ Eugenics are not legal and never should be.
The government commuted her sentence. Blame them and anti-death penalty advocates and anti-Americans.

She's not a threat any more and never really was. She was brainwashed by Manson.

You would have to totally disregard your beloved constitution to do it cheaply.:1orglaugh

Would you hit it?
let her rot! just because her health is in decline doesn't justify a release! its a ridiculous argument! would you consider any of her crimes less heinous if her victims had cancer? would the taking of there lives be valued any less, under the presumption that they were suffering or going to die anyways? time does not heal all wounds, and she deserves what she brought upon herself.

why should we have to feed the devils child...them people was controlled by the devil..no human that has ever been to the foot of the cross could ever do that kind of stuff to another human. i think they should have put the whole gang to death..the minute they was found guilty...some things you can talk about...some things you cant........this case fits in the second things:(

You can't have everything! Where would you put it?!
In a closely related story there is a five part essay by the cult film director John Waters on the Huffington Post at the moment. He was a tripped out counterculturalist during the same period as the Manson crew and made a journey out west to go some of the trials and the sentencing. It is well worth a read. It describes the friendship he developed with the Van Houten girl over the years. Check it out.

With regards to this woman. I would let her out to die as long as two criteria have been met. That she is genuinely remorseful for the victim and not her own circumstances and that she not profit from the liberty she may be granted by exploiting her notoriety.

or they could let vengeful minded people like me execute her and others like her. that would save money and take care of criminals. i'd even use my own gun and save the state the cost of ammo.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
As Bill Hicks once suggested, put them in the movies. when a scene calls for someone to get their ass kicked and killed, why use a stunt double? Use a deathrow inmate and make that scene real.
