A child’s Virginia baptism ended up being a real shocker.
Responding to a noise complaint in Prince William County, police sought to quell the assembled crowd — who they said were making too much of a racket — by firing a Taser at the child’s grandfather and at the pregnant mother of the baptized child.

The officers said they placed a call to the homeowner, who they said was intoxicated and refused to reduce the volume.

The homeowner, 55, is a church family counselor and bible study teacher. His son, Edgar Rodriguez, claims he was Tasered three times after producing his ID for police. The elder Rodriguez was arrested for public intoxication in his own backyard.

The two say police used excessive force to quiet down “a backyard party.” A home video of the scene shows a relatively tame event.

The pregnant mother of the baptized child was also Tasered in the back after officers averred she was assaulting a police officer, and is now being held separate from her family by Customs and Immigration Enforcement.

After living in Memphis I just show the police no support they aree just sad and I see it is spreading I hope for you guys sake you have good cops in your city or town

A few rotten apples spoil things for the rest of us. Most police officers are courteous (sometimes), conscientious, civic minded individuals who are trying to better their communities.

And most departments are so highly scrutinized by Internal Affairs that attempting malfeasance is a losing proposition. That and the screening process tends to weed out most of the people who shouldn't be sworn in anyway. But a few like these ass-heads will always slip through the cracks.

Hey it could be worse. We could have thought it said, "Virgin Tasered in Vagina in Virginia".

Now that would be messed up! We've only got like 20 virgins left in Virginia. And these damn pigheaded cops are going to run around tasering them in their vaginas?! What kinda crap is that?! Well, there oughta be a law, I tell ya!!! Tasering Virginia Virgins in their vaginas!!!

Yes, search for the many threads. Are you keeping a spreadsheet of every time the cops use tasers?

I would suggest you read up on things like the Gestapo before you go throwing around that word to describe police in the US. Because some ass clown gets shocked, you generalize every cop into one pile that you compare to one of the most frightening and oppressive organizations in history.

Let's look at all the charity events cops in the US (and elsewhere) do. Or how many volunteer to provide aid and muscle during disasters. I think, if you've studied at all, that you'll find modern police officers to be much different than the Gestapo.

I've had my fill of this crap. Every time a cop does anything that results in some physical altercation, there's a dozen people to quickly swoop in and compare them to nazis and every other nasty, terrible group they can think of. I want you to ride ONE night with the Philadelphia PD, or the Detroit PD, and honestly look inside a night with one of those guys before you compare them to historical figures you obviously know nothing about.

The weapons they're issued are not toys, and the cops hardly regard them as such. Every cop who carries a taser has been shot with it before taking it on the street, so they know full well what it does. Same goes for any of the weapons they carry. I know- I carried them all for more than a decade.

Bottom line is, you're reading internet news, and making judgments without knowing all the facts in a case. You don't know everything that happened, and you're immediately, consistently ready to side with whoever is on the opposite side of the cops. Why don't you gather facts before spewing so much anger at the thousands of men and women who wear those badges?

In defence of the defunct gestapo and Nazi regime generally speaking, they too had a strong sense of community that came with nationalism. Being a secret police doesn't necessarily mean you are alien to charity.

I for one think coppers get a raw deal (in the West) they're often damned if they do and damned if they don't. G8 and G20 summits are always a good example. You end up with every hippy and anarchist on the street and they're expected to maintain order. "It ain't gonna happen." During riots there are a lot of people who deserve a good cosh and the video evidence usually supports this.

As with any walk of life, you get some rotten apples here and there.
