I thought it was a VERY poignant reminder of what we Americans used to be, and what we are letting happen right now. Our Forefathers started a war over less grievous abuses of government power than we are seeing right now. The Feds are using fear to grow Federal power, and ultimately tyranny over us all. The Founders would be ashamed of us all...

While he makes some good points he also mis-states a lot of things and obviously is more right of center politically.One of the mis-statements he makes is when he says the american revolution and the boston tea party was done by the "silent majority" which is a real revision of history.Truth is most colonists were loyal to the crown especially early on and while maybe somewhat sympathetic to some of the more radical elements complaints still thought of themselves as loyal british subjects and were not looking for independance.It was an evolving process. Most revolutions are started in such a way,small group of revolutionaires at the start.
He also starts by saying how dare a politician call the citizens cowards and then proceeds to call them cowards a few times in his diatribe.

Actually, bodie.... Cunning is right. Our forefathers started a war over a 15% tax. How much higher are our taxes right now again?!?! Oh yeah, btw, some of you might like to read up on the Constitution. Some of the taxes that have been imposed by our government are just flat out illegal.

Please, enlighten us when you get some free time. Here's the basic topic as I see it.
Assertion: The basic premise is that the Federal government in the last, oh, 60 years has consolidated power while pretty much ignoring the basic tenants of the US Constitution, in some cases (like now) as the REQUEST of the people, who choose security from the Federal government to protect them out of fear. (BTW, which is laughable to me personally because most Fed employees I work with are C students at BEST). And IMHO, those who would rather be secure than free deserve to be neither. So the question is this: where will it end?
