Tell me this isn't a messed up story...

So my buddy back in the day got his HS girl preg' and ultimately split to find a quarter of his greenbacks going to this chick. Well, meanwhile, she met a new John and they decided to get together. He actually wanted to be the "man" in the little girl's life and decided to adopt, thus getting my friend out seeing his greenbacks moved to a quarter of a tune.

Anyway, this new John and his ex ultimately split and the new dude found himself in my friend's shoes, getting his C-Notes gaffled so the little girl could have some sort of financial stability.

Needless to say, my friend long moved on and is now a foreman making $35-40 an hour, has his place, a new truck and has and a life of freedom.

Regardless of whether you think he is a sleaze or not for moving on (and out of) the girl's life, isn't that right thur some crazy stuff?

I almost feel sorry for the poor sap's situation in all of it. Almost.

A lesson to be learned... :)

Props to that guy for trying to be a man. That impresses me.

Right.

One of my other childhood friends is getting nailed hard by the gov't. They just don't mess around if you are out banging chicks up. That said, it's sad all the deadbeats with 6 and 1 in the oven (all with different women) who don't do a damn thing but couch surf.

Well he's still a stand up guy, caring and taking care of a kid that wasn't his, aside from him the child is the other victim in that mess.

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
I think your buddy is a messed up guy, but that's just me. I find kids to be annoying. Yet I would have handled the situation better than he did.

Piss off - I'm wanking
I don't see how this is a messed up story. So, here: "this isn't a messed up story."

The other guy is great, while your friend should have taken some responsibility. Seems like everyone in the situation should be thankful to the 'new dude'.

No doubt 'J' weaseled his way out of his responsibility and I can say I would never let it come to that. I never got into it with him about his girl but she was a hot blond chick. I think she nagged him to no end and a young kid just wasn't grown enough of a man to realize his responsibility. 17-18 y/o kids can be so dumb.

Happened to me - but for different reasons.

The fucked up part of that story is it revolves around the cash - not the child.

That's true. And even more screwed up is no matter what - aside from a toothless crackhead junky bitch - the guy always gets the short end of the stick, even if he wants to be involved.

Yes - and no. And I've been on both ends of that stick.

My first wife was/is (and always will be) a cunt! Blame me for getting married and having a child when we were both way too young.

My 3rd wife, and the mother of my last two children, is a wonderfully loving, caring, intelligent woman who has sacrificed much of her life to raise two wonderful children 4,000 miles from me. I pay a LOT but it's still not enough to make up for the career she sacrificed, the friends she's lost or the stretch marks on her body. Despite the distance, I'm as involved as humanly possible in the daily lives of my children and have no regrets in having them with this woman. In no way do I feel like I got the "short end of the stick". I've kept my career, maintained my lifestyle, have wild and crazy friends while she's at home making sure our children get their homework done then getting up at 5:30am to make sure they get a good breakfast before sending them off to school and then riding her bike 14km to her part-time job (she had to give up the full-time nursing job to be there for our children.

As bad as a few thousand bucks a month can hurt, it's NOTHING like raising two children on your own - and I respect the hell out of my ex for doing such a wonderful job.
