The 4:20 Thread

I've decided to start a thread for everyone out there who knows the significance of 4:20pm.

Whenever the clock strikes 4:20pm in your time zone, and you are able to sit back and burn one, log onto Freeones and join your fellow members for a communal smoke session.

If you decide to participate then come to this thread at 4:20pm and let your stoney comrades know you are with them.

Feel free to tell us about your 4:20 experience, your mind state, your day, how your life is going, why your taking the moment to kick back and relax your mind, or anything else that pops into your head while you are in an "elevated" state.

(BTW, this thread is for the "community within the community". So let's make this a positive place. No stoner bashing please.)

Here in San Diego, we have a radio station called 91X (91.1) and everyday at 4:20pm they "pause for a cause" for a mandatory Bob Marley song.

I also live in LA and I think Kroq does the same.

My hand is my best friend!
Can one listen to the Grateful Dead while having some Cherry Garcia ice-cream as a substitute?

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
There's a guy that I work with, who admittedly hasn't been sober since the 70's, who has his alarm set to play Handel's 'Hallelujah' chorus at 4:20 every afternoon. When that time comes he drops everything and goes somewhere to light up, even if he's in the middle of a meeting with someone in management. They all know what Rhino's important business is at that time. ;)

You don't have to be a 4:20er to enjoy a bit of the Bob. I often listen to a bit of Easy Skanking and Redemption while I'm working.

Mine 4:20 kicks off at 4:00 :)

Usually involves some classical music which is my break from a life as a metal-head :)

Here's a little-known fact that pertains to 420. If you ever go see a show at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, look about 30 yards to the left of the stage. From the audience side, it looks like an ordinary hill, but on the other side it's much more than that: it's the home of the Hookah Hut. It's mainly used by stagehands as a, shall we say, social gathering place, but we've had plenty of celebrity guest appearances over the years. I've partaken of the herb in the company of such stoners of the like of Carlos Santana, Los Lobos, and Willie Nelson. :)

In the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, there's an old Russian Orthodox church that's been converted into a Hookah Bar. Big sign right in front.

Your job sounds like it comes with a lot of "perks" GSB. I'm a bit jealous.

That's what I love about it! I don't know too many other people who can say that they've killed Phil Anselmo's joint or that have smoked from the same stash that a member of the Grateful Dead got their pot from. And that's just the stoner aspect of my job. There's plenty more perks that come with my job. :)
