I completely agree with you Alisa, however the problem is that parents DO NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for their children. They'd rather have someone else do it for them and bring about censorship. Nice.....NOT!!!

I'm really tired of hearing all these "protect the children" idiots, I have a solution...maybe if these self-serving assholes would actually pay attention to their children there wouldn't be a problem. But apparently no one learns from history and the saying that it repeats itself is completely true. Ok, they want to ban porn...lets go back to when they "banned alcohol". And we all know how that turned out, all that did was help organized crime proliferate instead. And the same will happen with this, I just don't understand why people are so anal-retentive when it comes to sex. But its ok to show people getting their brains splattered all over the TV. This site looks like nothing but a "sky-is-falling-conspiracy-theorist-wetdream" type place. It would be too dumb to merit serious thought if the British Gov't tried to block adult sites. It takes years and billions in lobbyist money for there to be any change in the U.S. I'm not worried.

A sensible solution would be for parents, if they really wanted, to have some sort of lockbox technology (if it exists!) installed on their modem or, better yet, have the internet provider control adult content in a way like whether or not a home gets HBO/Showtime.

Look at the blocking technology that FO uses to block tube urls...with more financial muscle that kind of thing could work even better?

Take a look at a few threads on here by the name of How many gigs of porn do you have on your hard drive? and the sort.

Now imagine how many people save/look at pornography on a daily basis. Now imagine if porn was shut down via website. Do you honestly think that people will stop uploading and then downloading to spread more?

Of course my question is, does this also mean they're going to by default block TV shows that show soft porn or are overtly sexual like the Tudors, Rome, Sex in the City, Desperate Housewives, etc?
