i dunno...

i guess censorship IS applied to television and mainstream public medias...why should the internet be different?

You turn on the television...you have to pay for porn, or uncensored materials.
Soon....
You turn on the internet...you have to pay for porn and uncensored materials.

However, I just think that the technology will prevent the success of censorship of the internet. Besides its the damn internet, if they were going to do this it should have happened years ago. Now its just going to piss off too many people if they try and pull this shit off.

GO PORN!!!!!!!!

So, because it might happen in the UK, that means it is happening in the U.S.? Not sure I follow the logic there, but OK.
People have been up in arms about pornography being banned for several decades now. Of course, despite their warnings and fears, it never happens. But, chicken little keeps on cheeping away.

well I hope the people who believe this will never happen in the UK and the US are right and I hope that it never happens as well

Banned
Children might look somewhere else to access to adult entertainments if the government abolished adult entertainments on the internet.

Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference.
This is the tory scum I blame. Even if "gaybour" (labour) had it in motion before the tories came into power. I blame the tory monkeys as they are scum fuck bastards. Don't ask me what a scum fuck bastard is as I just made that up a moment ago. These Tory DICKS are the cause of the "video nasty era" for the UK and they are up to their old tricks again

All those who support the British Conservatives can salute them and their dictatorship plans.... sieg heil!!!!.

So much for freedom of speech and other forms of freedom we are supposed to have. And those who fought for such things in the past and fight for to this day have done it and do it in vain it would seem.

The internet will shut down if adult was totally banned.

I read somewhere that between 60% and 70% of all internet traffic is porn related. If this is true. You might be right pal.

I'm so great I'm jelous of myself.
I'm 100% against this sort of rules. And it's not because I'm a porn fan (obviously I am, I'm healthy, thank you government), but because I believe:
1. It's not up to the government to interfear in my private life, or to anyone elses in a certain country and
2. The rule should be the opposite around. The internet should be open and free to everyone. If people believe certain themes or sites should be banned, they should be able to contact their provider and ask them to block these sites on their IP-address.

However, I am a parent of a 10-year old, who's for the moment busy exploring the internet, I don't think it's a governments business to decide what he can or can't find on the net. Parents have their responsabilities as well, and so it should be me or my wife to look what sites he surfs to. I can't repeat it enough, not the government but the parents have to take responsability in this matter.

Before you know, they ban 80% of the internet (porn, gamble-sites, extreme politics left and right sites, and so on) and before you know it, exploring the internet in the US or Europe is just the same as exploring it in China.
What a hypocrism this is, all these so called democratic countries have their mouth full of communism and how bad it is, but they act just the same...

What bullshit, where there are big interests combined with big power, nothing will change.
Just imagine how big the porn industry is, it wouldn't suprise me if it was the biggest jobsector in the US.

If it's to protect children that's the parents job NOT the government.

100% true. As a former social worker who worked in foster homes, youth centers and kindergarten, I have to say: Far too many parents are too busy playing World of Warcraft, hanging out at clubs or get hammered every day, so they rely on teachers, government or anybody else to do the actual parenting.

Sad thing is: If you took away the TV and the Computer, those kids would be something like outcasts.

excellent point in fact I'd go on to say that if parents would not totally take away but cut down the amount of time their kids spent watching tv, being on the computer and playing games then the kids might start doing something amazing like reading books and opening up their minds and questioning the world that we live in :)

Thank you. I grew up in a small village with around 7 k inhabitants, and spent most of my childhood pastime in the woods next to the streets i lived. And I hung out with a classmate whose grampa had a farmstead on the outskirts of the village.

I found it very sad that most of the kids in the kindergarten I worked in did not realize the concepts of cows giving the milk or pigs getting actually slaughtered (I watched the process when I was 5, in the slaughtery 100 meters from our home, next street, I highly recommend that - very informative, know where your food comes from)

Way too many kids do not know about the basics of human life, and they get fed information they can hardly handle.

In kindergarten, I overheard an example of discussions of kids:

A kid whose 15-year-old brother enjoyed having him around while he and his friends watched HC porn, and he told his friends in our kindergarten group: 'And after he has fucked the woman, he pees in her face' - well, he did not know about the concept of sperm, so he guessed zhat white sauce must be pee, as that was what he knew.
