Well again I say, one child is too many.

I definitely say don't give to catholic charities. Fuck them. Do you know who the largest holder of commercial real estate in the world is? Yep. The catholic church. they make BILLIONS of dollars a year. their archives are believed to hide thousands of "religious artifcats" that would absolutely abolish much of the catholic belief system. They refuse to give access to anyone outside of the church. When you donate to the church that money goes through the diocese and then gets distributed. So that pool of money in essence goes to defend these fucking monsters and hide them and feed them. Let them fund their charities with the billions of dollars worth of real estate assets they hold.

You want to address the issue of other religions that have child molestors, ok fine. But name ONE that has MORE than the catholic religion. it's at epidemic levels yet the church continues on with business as usual. For a perfect example is that fucking monster Mahoney who was permitted to attend the conclave.

Look at what was done to Joe Paterno at Penn State. He didn't molest any kids but he knew about it and hid it and was vilified and died with his legacy destroyed. Yet catholics worldwide have campaigned to fast-track pope john paul to saint hood. REALLY?????????

In Milwaukee where there were many charges made the Vatican took a month to give then-Milwaukee archbishop Timothy Dolan the go ahead in 2007 to move $57 million into a trust in anticipation of an avalanche of sexual abuse lawsuits against the Milwaukee Archdiocese. But it took six years for Dolan to get the vatican to remove the child rapist who had been convicted of sexually assaulting a teen boy! they were quick with the money though right? nice of them to give him 6 more years of freedom.

And you are correct that this wasn't being reported in the 60s or any other time for that matter. Turns out that these instances date back as far as 1932!!! . why do you think that is? becaus ethe church sqaushed these claims and have ever since fought this very aggressively. well check this article out

One big step towards fixing this is getting rid of the stupid rules against priests and nuns marrying. Put men in prison and they will resort to animalistic sexual practices. It's a proven fact. Take sex away from a man of any type, priests included, and they will eventually give in to their desires. Not all, but many will. One is too many.

Take all the great deeds done by the Roman Catholic church and wipe your filthy gaping ass with it because it's a moot point when the church has a long history of child rape and then the superiors all the way to the top hiding them, defending them and protecting them.

check this out about the church moving priests accused of child rape from Ireland to the US. they didn't take their access to kids away AT ALL, they just shuffled them around to new groups of kids. And we all know how nice a little strange is sometimes, right?

well sadly Philbert there is no winner in this argument. there are grown men in the world who's lives have been shattered by someone they trusted and they had to grow up feeling shame and dirty and worthless. Intimacy was taken away from them and they had to hide that horrible thing that happened to them. Imagine what that did to them as human beings and as men.

Then finally to have the courage to speak out and know that thousands of other kids and hundreds of other priests have been through the very same thing and no one did a fucking thing to stop it. On top of it, they see nothing done to that person who violated them in a way that no one could understand if they haven't been through it. it take away your soul and your trust of everyone.

So for everyone who excuses the church you are no better. You contribute to this ongoing legacy that is your temple. You give them money to continue this shameful existence and that is unacceptable.

There are more Muslims than Christians.

And what the fucking baby jesus on a hot rod does the size of the religion have to do with shit anyway? do you give Islam a pass because of how many muslims there are? fuck no and you shouldn't.

They have turned against the accuser and made their claims public to try and shame them into dropping the claims. They have spent millions of dollars to further destroy these people just to protect a priest.

Here is my OPINION on whey the Boy Scouts and the Roman Catholic Church are so well known for these crimes (...and they are horrible crimes) - This is my OPINION - First, they are both popular targets, Second, because of the very nature of them - Priests and Scout Leaders are put in positions of trust with boys. It potentially draws the element. Third - Unlike molestation from married clergy there is the aura of homosexuality that this is all covered in.

I'll put this personally. Forget about the horrific number of abuse cases. Lets just consider one. If I was to even look the other way on ONE child abuse case, I would be everything you say.
However, I haven't. I hope there isn't a situation in the universe that would make me guilty of that.

People seem to forget that all that money the church has, was guilt tripped out of the hands of gullible sheep. They also get money because they're a business. They sell lies and giving them credit for religious based charities (after centuries of religious based bigotry and bloodshed), is insulting to secular charities that don't have as much money. It implies nobody but the religious, give yet we still have a poverty problem and plenty of preachers are riding around with the latest luxury car. Well there have been substantial investigations on this. I could simply point out Mahoney being accepted into the papal conclave by the vatican is a pretty good indicator that they choose priest over abused children.

Well let's see what else...how about all of the confessions by priests that they raped altar boys? In that HBO special they tracked down one of those priests and asked confronted him and he said "that was a long time ago I dont do that anymore" and did it with a brush off like by gones are by gones, it's no big deal"

Where is O'Grady today you ask? In December 2010 he was arrested in Dublin for possession of child pornography. The victims were as young as two years old. As part of his bail conditions O’Grady was required to sign on twice daily and surrendered his passport. So he was fucking little boys in Philly, got 14 years for fucking 3 year old boys and only did 7 years. Oh and guess who paid for his defense? Then the church paid for him to be relocated to Ireland where he then went on the run and ended up getting caught with toddler porn and got a whopping 3 years in jail, all on the church's dime.

Nope. I think I posted quite a bit here. I have never called her dumb, have only treated her with respect, and actually kind of enjoy her spark. I think she is making a couple of points. One I agree with. The other I think I've been clear on.

The RC Church is a community (if you're ok with that term) and a state/institution. I'll agree on guilt of the institution, but not of the community in whole.

I threw you a softball btw. There are no more convicted child molesters in the Adult Industry than there are accountants. I think there have been a couple of studies. You didn't even give me the convictions for priests. So, you get an "A" for passion and emotion. ...and I'll leave this as a non-gradable discussion otherwise.
