The FreeOnes 2009 NCAA Bracket Contest

maildude

Postal Paranoiac
At the urging of literally two posters, I am taking it upon myself to single-handedly launch the FreeOnesOfficial 2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket Contest. The winner gets bragging rites--unless the mods wanna dip into their bulging pockets and finger out some kind of prize. (I wouldn't make it too fancy, though. There will probably only be five or six people interested.) The rules are simple: In the first field of 64, you get one point for correctly choosing the winners. In the field of 32 you'll receive two points. The field of 16 4 points. The field of 8 eight points. In the Final Four twelve points and finally sixteen points for picking the winner of it all. I will update the scores at the end of each round. Here are the teams in the field of 64(The play-in game doesn't count. Only the winner vs. Louisville counts in the 64):

I know I'm going to get questions about this so here goes: this is a bracket contest. That means that if you choose wrong in the initial field of 64 you don't get to pick from that bracket into the next round unless one of the teams you chose is still alive. Meaning that if in the first round of TEAM A v. TEAM B you chose TEAM B, and TEAM B loses, that team is out...period. So if you had them advancing past the next round you obviously can't pick in that next round. Similarly, if you chose TEAM B to win and they lose, but you had TEAM C playing them in the next round and advancing, then you can continue with that team as your choice until they lose or you have them out of your bracket--and thus you'd get all points accrued. Any questions? PM me.

Maildude are you going to do this Round by Round (The Dribble approach) or do we submit one single bracket (aka The Big Wad)?

Do I have to go find a bracket list and finish my picks?

I'm doing it round by round. I posted a link to a bracket earlier. This way makes it easier for you guys to participate. Like I posted earlier, I'll monitor every game so there is no *ahem* dishonest monkey business.

Well I have to say, even my mom could have picked these games with more imagination (i.e. brilliance) than you, professor!

Other than your knee-jerk, Pavlovian selection of USC , every other team you picked is the higher seed :1orglaugh

Your post is like a blizzard of chalk :lame: :1orglaugh

And worst of all you picked UCLA, which you KNOW guarantees they'll lose! ;)
