The OPA prohibits the publication of works that have a tendency to deprave or corrupt a significant proportion of those likely to see them
You have to be depraved and corrupted to be watching the movie in the first place.

I've seen some of the controversial scenes from the first and it amounts to cinematic filth. Its brainless story telling of zero story and just an excuse to try and shock the audience because they can get away with what they did.

This new example is a pathetic attempt at a movie which exists only to shock those stupid enough to watch it. Ive read about that controversy on yahoo and its no surprise this shit is not allowed. The fact its banned will probably make people want to see it more, but if you actually desire to see this crap then you are as depraved as the twisted fuck who wrote it.

In fairness watching specific scenes or reading about them is very different to seeing them in the context of the film as a whole. I also think its a weak argument when someone condemns something that they haven't actually watched, for example like religious leaders did with The Life of Brian. But the controversy will only serve to increase the popularity of the movie, as happened with The Life of Brian.

"The principal focus of The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) is the sexual arousal of the central character at both the idea and the spectacle of the total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture, and murder of his naked victims. Examples of this include a scene early in the film in which he masturbates whilst he watches a DVD of the original Human Centipede film, with sandpaper wrapped around his penis, and a sequence later in the film in which he becomes aroused at the sight of the members of the ‘centipede’ being forced to defecate into one another’s mouths, culminating in sight of the man wrapping barbed wire around his penis and raping the woman at the rear of the ‘centipede’. There is little attempt to portray any of the victims in the film as anything other than objects to be brutalised, degraded and mutilated for the amusement and arousal of the central character, as well as for the pleasure of the audience. There is a strong focus throughout on the link between sexual arousal and sexual violence and a clear association between pain, perversity and sexual pleasure. It is the Board’s conclusion that the explicit presentation of the central character’s obsessive sexually violent fantasies is in breach of its Classification Guidelines and poses a real, as opposed to a fanciful, risk that harm is likely to be caused to potential viewers."

I don't have to see it to know I'm not interested.

The Human Centipede was an interesting new concept for a horror movie, but the finished product failed to develop that concept into anything beyond what a teenager could achieve. A sequel to a poorly developed idea is unappealing, at best.

I need to clean my screen!

There's a difference.

The people who protested Life of Brian knew absolutely nothing about the film before they saw it whereas in this day and age of the internet, you can know a lot about a film before seeing it.

Er, I didn't actually say you/people with your view weren't interested. I'm not interested in it either, but I'm not condemning it without seeing it which was my point. :hatsoff:

What I find odd about censorship bodies like the BBFC is that the reason for them banning films is that they may cause harm to potential viewers & yet these censors have seen more obscene movies than anyone else. Are they not damaged by it? No it's just this invisible audience they are 'protecting'. :anonymous

True but knowing a lot about the film is different to seeing it. Reading a description of it is very different to how it is shown on screen, direction, editing, acting, use of music etc all play a part. I'm not saying Human Centipede 2 has artistic merit but a film cannot be judged on written descriptions of its scenes, its a film not a novel!

Here we go again. . .I don't like you. GET OVER IT. But if someone else had made the same comment as you had above I would have responded in the same way, its not a personal attack. You want me to apologise because I picked up on the fact that you had missed the point of what I was saying? :dunno:
