Ingredient #1
Water, water, water. Even if this isn't the lone secret to a satisfying "recipe", your body is still going to thank you. Simply put, water is good for you and good for your dish! Oh, and in perfecting my own "secret recipe", I've discovered it works best if you start your water intake immediately after sharing a "dish". It will help replenish your lost fluids quicker and aid in getting a head start on reviving more "ingredients" for the next waiting batch. If you are like yours truly, you may not wish to wait 6-7 days between each recipe. Immediate water intake will help in fueling you with a generous amount of capable goods, even if you plan to share your next dish within 2-4 days from your last. What I wouldn't recommend is waiting until 3 hours before sharing and then decide you'd better be as "fluid" as possible. I prefer having a glass or two of water nearby around the clock, as you eat, as you read, as you drive. There's no need to saturate yourself over one sitting. I always try to at least drink the minimum daily amount required each day and I always start the replenishing process immediately following each and every "dish".

Mmm...protein!
This isn't breaking news per se but I've discovered protein is an enormous secret in the making of my own recipe. All chefs will tell you that protein is found in many daily foods you eat. And, ultimately, you are what you eat! I'm always conscious of this fact and over the years have fine-tuned the foods I eat to best assist in keeping the texture of my recipe consistent and "tasting" the same way time after time after time. It took several years to unlock some of the secrets of what food alone can add to the consistency of a "recipe". One "secret" I have openly shared is the magic of peanut butter with celery. One of my favorite snacks is dipping celery sticks in the protein-rich jar and crunching away. And always with the plenty of water nearby! I like snacking on this combo following a shared dish (to quickly promote more ingredients) and then also the day before I plan sharing another newly made batch. I must add that this combo is merely a routine piece of the puzzle to my own secret recipe. It is not, by itself, the entire picture. Any chef is wise to (healthily) experiment and see what timing and proportion of ingredients in the foods they eat best works for them.

Unlocking the keys to better flavor.
In the event that your recipe might be consumed, or just simply tasted, it's only logical to do what you can to make it something the recipient will enjoy. First off, not all who sample your recipe want to taste it. Don't be offended by this. Respect her wishes. She may just want to see what makes you "you" and take a part of that with her. As a chef, you should be grateful for this and happy to share what you have. Still, for those who may taste or savor your recipe, there are ways to help make it a bit more palatable to her. One of my favorite mixes is fresh pineapple pieces and grape juice. It is up to each chef how important this is to the overall recipe. Playing the part of messenger rather than consumer, I can not say firsthand how fully effective this is to improving flavor. It is something that is secondary for me in perfecting my recipe, relative to the first two ingredients, but it is something I try to work into the overall formula.

Time.
In a perfect world, waiting as long as you can between dishes is an ideal ingredient and will naturally result in a generous proportion for you and your recipient. My approach to time is always a balance between its effects on proportion and my enjoyment for sharing as much as I can while we are here. Life is short and sharing my recipe with many potential tasters is important to me. Proportion size is sought for too but I will compromise a bit if it means I can add another friend to my life-long list of great memories. One of the benefits of the secrets shared above is that it helps add to my serving-size despite recently having shared a dish. In other words, they promote quick replenishing and while there is no full substitute for the benefits of time, I find my proportions are consistently generous with only, say, 3 days rest. In short, that means more opportunity to share your recipe and still know you are providing an adequate serving size. Having said that, there are times when an "exchanging of recipes" is something you have planned in advance. There are times I stay out of the kitchen for about a week but always follow my daily diet snacks and routine. When the time comes to share the recipe, the result is what you'd expect - basically a doubling of the recipe! It often results in making the biggest impressions on the taster but, again, there is a bit of a trade-off to these bigger proportions. All in all, I strive to find a balance between the two.

Last, and most importantly, my own recipe is ALL-NATURAL. Or, rather, I do not use any kind of pills or enhancements of any kind. I'm most proud in knowing that when I'm sharing a dish with a woman, she is tasting me and not "pills". It may or may not be the most impressive dish she's seen, but she can be sure it's fresh and healthy if she wishes to savor it a little. :)

In closing my cookbook, I always like to add that "recipes" are about being happy maximizing the ingredients you have to work with. It is not a sport. There will always be dishes that serve greater proportions than yours. By the same token, your dishes are surely more generous than another's. In the end, it makes no difference if A) you both aren't enjoying it or B) it isnt really "cumming" from you!
