The inhumane conditions of Bradley Manning's detention

"'We are a rebellious nation. Our whole history is treason; our blood was attained before we were born; our creeds were infidelity to the mother church; our constitution treason to our fatherland. " Theodore Parker, 19th century minister, philosopher, US citizen.

What was he talking about when he said that?

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
That's what it is to be a martyr. Suck it up.

A martyr to attitude rich and intellect poor self-hating liberals who throw crap fits because they are thousands of miles away from their tranny girlfriend's pecker (not making this up) and they now realize they made a mistake in joining the military.

The worst part about it is that the information has now made it's way into the hands of Julian Assange, a man who hates the U.S. and who wants to cripple it's ability to act globally.

It's good that this guy didn't have access to T/S sci information.

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
You know what's funny? So far the only person who's had their life endangered by the leaks is Assange.
Interestingly; Whatever the daily mail may SAY about this, it fails to follow through:
The Guardian and assange mutually agreed not to publish certain information because they felt that it endangered lives and listed vulnerable targets. The mail went straight in there and did it.
Pot, kettle...

So do something about it. Or are you just looking for an argument?

So every time you bitch, it's immediately applied to an action? I had no idea you were so active.

What exactly are you doing about America's fall into socialism? You started a thread about it, so clearly you must be doing something. Right?

They can't get to Assange and they didn't break any law so what do you do as the morally superior country? That's right, you apply psychological torture to someone who hasn't been charged with or convicted of any crime. You break his mind, destroy his soul and slowly but surely drive him insane. But hey, anything goes if your the US and someone is deemed an enemy of the state. Almost the entire civilized world sees this as inhumane treatment except for the US apparently. The greatest country on earth? I don't think so.

I wonder who wil be the first to justify this kind of torture? Trident1, Andronicus Ry or maybe Bloodshot Scott?

I've been reading a lot of reactions to this story elsewhere. Let me sum up what I've read; "Faggot treason Benedick Arnold faggot traitor. Should be hung traitor traitor faggot espionage act 1917 faggot faggot traitor." Freeones is actually far more civil than many other outlets. Thankfully.

It's clear what's going on. This is a warning. As was Assange's indictment for...umm, having consensual sex with women. But that's a given. I'm not surprised or shocked by it.

I am, however, surprised that people are willing to call "treason" on those who risk life, limb and liberty to report the illegal actions of our government. To be blind to corruption, criminal acts and lies to the citizenry is to be Patriotic to a great many.

That's a sad, sad state of affairs if you ask me. Truth is now an offense. I hope we all think about that for a while. We condemn those who threaten our ignorance. There's no defending that.

That's only after he got a firestorm on his hands due to the fact that he said he didn't care what happened to the people listed in it

AND

that people who collaborated with the U.S. didn't deserve protection.

But let's not stop there. When the documents WERE leaked we find that many names and specifics weren't redacted even though Assange said they would take them out.

Assange is a scumbag.

BULLSHIT. Wikileaks offered to issue redaction through minimal cooperation, but the State Department refused.

The State Dept. chose to prevent redaction in order to pin charges on Wikileaks. Thus making the US State Department, dare I say it, treasonous. How else could you describe the State Dept.'s willingness to put "individuals in danger" in order to save face and bolster charges?

Pain heals, chicks dig scars, Freeones lasts forever

Bullshit. You have no love for this country.....and if I remember correctly, aren't you the one who had the gall, the fucking nerve, to wonder why we Americans made such a big deal about 9/11 every year?

Look, the reality is you're known around here to be an America basher who never has a strong argument to back up your BS. This time methinks you were surprised no one agreed with you.....and now you are backpeddling.

Nice try.

That's the most ridiculous thing you've said in a while. Did you even read your own links?

"They were provided in violation of U.S. law and without regard for the grave consequences of this action," he said. Koh said WikiLeaks should not publish the documents, return them to the U.S. government and destroy any copies it may have in its possession or in computer databases.

The State Department said Koh's message was a response to a letter received on Friday by the U.S. ambassador to Britain, Louis Susman, from Assange and his lawyer, Jennifer Robinson. The department said that letter asked for information "regarding individuals who may be 'at significant risk of harm' because of" the release of the documents.

"Despite your stated desire to protect those lives, you have done the opposite and endangered the lives of countless individuals," Koh wrote in reply. "You have undermined your stated objective by disseminating this material widely, without redaction, and without regard to the security and sanctity of the lives your actions endanger."

Here I had to pull it out for you.

What exactly are you doing about America's fall into socialism? You started a thread about it, so clearly you must be doing something. Right?

Here's what I'm doing about it. I vote. And I falsify my tax returns and instead donate my money to charities that are spending their money wisely on worthy causes, which is a hell of lot more than can be said for our federal government, or any other country's federal government for that matter. And I believe in individual freedoms and I don't impose my beliefs on others. And I've shorted government bonds because I believe our nation's fiscal policy will soon result in a significant devaluation of the dollar. And I patronize every local small business in my area and avoid shopping at conglomerate stores full of Chinese goods. And whenever possible I avoid purchasing products made by union labors because I think, while unions where necessary 100 years ago to prevent the abuse of the American labor force, they no longer serve anybody but themselves while unnecessarily driving up the cost of goods and services.

So if you must know, that's what I'm doing about it instead of posting a useless thread on a discussion board. :)

And I don't believe Manning is being tortured. Sure, he lost Dallas Clark and he has to play Jacksonville. It's a home game though, it's not like he has to go to Jacksonville.

By the way, I didn't start this thread. I just pointed out some whiny bitch taking a shot at our country with no substance to what he was trying to say.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I'm not defending what passes for a prison system in the U.S. but Manning should have known one thing, if nothing else.

You poke the bear with a stick, it growls
Chuck rocks at it, it charges
Steal his berries, and he'll ass rape you while force feeding you maggoty diarrhea

It's what grumpy ol bears do.

It's a pity that I can't give you double rep for this post.

Especially given the oath that he took, I have absolutely no sympathy for Bradley Manning or his current situation..
