I don't know, I'm guessing it's because if things were too peaceful and everyone got along with each other, there wouldn't be that much to get excited about or prepared for other than things like getting prepared for every season, for what the weather will be like, or for Easter coming near, or for the time of opening presents at Christmas. Having things like people getting murdered, or dying too soon and wars/battles going on is just too brutal and too violent. It just aint right and it aint fair and it needs to be stopped. What would be even better is that we wouldnt need to worry about those in poor countries, because we should just all share the wealth. You can give me bad rep for that for all I care, but I'm just making a point, more like telling the truth.
