This is the democratic partys way of trying to prevent the people from going republican, by labeling them "right wing racist extremists" if they disagree with Obamas actions and intentions.
They see its already happening, and they will do whatever it takes to stop it.
because..............they want the power for a long time.

I agree with you there. and I think that it is working. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I imagine that the Obama admin loves nothing more for Rush Limbaugh and other extreme "right-wingers" to mouth off as loud as possible, because it demonizes everyone that might be moderately conservative leaning and forces them to choose between either the white houses agenda or to be an extremist. It's just playing into their hands.

It's the exact same thing that Bush did with "Patriotism" to divide people. I'd even bank that those same media heads are in on the joke and they do it knowing full well to guarantee their positions as master manipulators of propaganda, not out on any real value or party loyalty.

This DHS report, is a scare tactic by the Barrack Hussien Obama to shore up political power against those that do not believe as he does.

I see that often, and the best example of the villified overreactionary are those guys who want to kill you because you disgraced them by saying that thier religion preaches violence.

that is assuming that we still believe in a government of the people, and not just to trade one Caesar for another.

Add me to the list too. I am a veteran who believes in the constitution as well as the bill of rights-all of them (I'm looking at you, ACLU) I have more firearms than hands, and I took an oath to "uphold and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic"

kind of a different subject here, but the constitution grants the supreme court the right to interpret it. SO... basically that means that whatever the supreme court does, including taking away all guns from every citizen, by definition is not unconstitutional. So how do you feel about that?

it seems to me that people wish to believe their own interpretation of what the constitutions means more than what it actually says.

Most Democrats do need PR staffs. More to the story though, it's being characterized by Obama opponents as a vilification of military personnel when it says no such thing.

It discusses extremist groups who might try and recruit former military personnel for extremist causes. How does that vilify military personnel any more than the report a few years ago vilified western looking people for suggesting AQ might try and recruit their type for AQ's causes??

Why couldn't Napolitano just make that case and analogy then be done with it?? But what happens with Democrats is once something is spun to sound politically untenable for them, instead of putting it in proper context and reconciling like situations, they start to backtrack and their opponents use their own backwards momentum to push them over making a nothing issue into a festering ulcer.

Different day, same song...Democrats are their own worst enemy at times.

Well.....all the other amendments in the bill of rights protect citizen's rights against infringement by government, why would the second only guarantee the governments' right to maintain a militia. Plus there's that recent decision the SCOTUS made about the DC gun ban

I understand your point. I have actually read the constitution. True, the Supremes can overturn virtually anything. Their powers are specific in Sec 3, and overturning any of their decisions by a 3/4 majority is unlikely the way partisanship has been lately

Can't you see the next story already? Some poor 22 y.o. Army PFC after being bombarded with a ton GOP spin and propaganda, standing up with a microphone asking VP Biden why people in the Obama administration are calling soldiers terrorists?

But I think it is a valid query from a security standpoint and I don't think that they should have to take it back or feel sorry that they said it. This was a justice department report, not a public address. It's supposed to be telling the people in charge what they need to hear, not the media what they want to hear.

on the general subject, I don't fully trust the government and I think that they are frequently at odds with the average person... but I think that they are less sinister than a lot of people make out. The goal of politicians is foremost to stay in power, and that doesn't mean they will never do anything good; they may do good more than harm, but I realize that it is incidental to their primary concern.
