The making of a revolution

Ok, there was never any proof of sexual misconduct at the compound.
the state was there earlier that year and found nothing.
besides it doesnt matter.
the warrant was for weapons.

and the gassed they used when burned turns to cyanide, the fbi knew it and there is video of them torching the place.

stockpiling weapons? they were selling arms legally at guns shows, that stockpliling is called an inventory.

either way, if you guys are cool with the GOV going to a private residence and opening fire on people and kids, shooting un armed kids and people on the property because they are weird
then maybe you need to live in a totalitarian gov, like the one were heading too.

there is video on all this.
fbi mooning the cameras, the dead bodies in the fields.
fbi talking about how they are ready to kill anything that moves.
would you surrender to those idiots?
it was a PR stunt that went bad.
believe what you want.

theres another with spots, if i had my way, i'd have all of you shot

What is it in Napolitano's resume that would indicate the she's the best "man" for the job ? :D

Running a joint like the ''Department of Homeland SECURITY would indicate, to me anyway, that the qualified appointee would have an extensive background in the military.
Appoint an attorney to the position of USDHLS and ''Security'' becomes a loosely defined relative term.
:helpme:

Oooohhhh! I know the answer to this one:

She governed a state that not only refused to enforce immigration laws, but instead spent time and energy harassing one county's sheriff who did enforce the law. Hence, she is qualified to oversee homeland security in the same manner that a tax-cheat is permitted to oversee the country's finances.

Am I right? What do I win?

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far

no, you're not. In a state that is firing hundreds of teachers and has a 7.5% unemployment rate the only public service that has never decreased funding is border security, so don't give me that. Also sheriff Joe was criticized because he was using municipal police to conduct searches for immigration which is not their job. But you're right, he was enforcing the fascist law that allows police to search you without any probable cause to assume you have committed a crime which was passed to allow legal discrimination and make being Hispanic cause for suspect. Kinda like the Japanese in WWII.

maybe I could respect you "anti-government" types if you weren't so goddamn hypocritical. You don't have any problem with police stepping outside of their powers to harass law abiding citizens and using racial profiling, so long as it supports your agenda.

Agreed. David Koresh fires on law enforcement attempting to execute a duly authorized warrant, causes his own death and the death many other innocents...he's canonized as a victim.

An innocent man attempts to pull out his wallet to id himself and gets pumped full of lead and it's at minimum he shouldn't have done it...at most it's an oopsie.

Gotta love those situational ethics.:thefinger

Calpoon,
I don't recall saying anything about border security, what I said was enforcement of immigration laws. I fail to see what the in the world teachers or unemployment have to do with immigration or homeland security. State funding v. Federal funding. You proceeded to argue against a point I didn't mention then digress into name-calling. Then you mention something about "you people" (to paraphrase) How exactly is it that you know my "agenda" based on two sentences I wrote, actually, tongue-in-cheek?

Way to make your point.

Outta here.

I can just see Facetious descending from the slopes of Mt. Sinai looking all Charlton Heston-like with these immortal words inscribed on stone tablets (complete with white hair and burning bush just to add the right effect). Future generations who have been freed from the bondage of their left-wing slavemasters will come to refer to these tenets as "The Facetious Scrolls" (even though they are stone tablets, they'll still be referred to as scrolls. Just sounds better than "The Facetious Tablets").

"Headache, anyone? Just take 2 Facetious tablets and call me in the morning."

Oh, and nice touch with the popcorn emoticon! :1orglaugh

Uh would I be wrong in assuming that when Bush was stretching, trampling and eroding the Constitution every which way Cheney needed him to...you believed in the government then and not a "piece of paper" like the Constitution?

Secondly, what is your best explanation of what Napolitano did wrong for which she needs to be fired?

Also, believing that someone else's position is wrong isn't an excuse to be an extremist in a country founded on freedom.:2 cents:

Ecept when someone's "position" infringes on the freedom of other citizens. :)

Certainly there were many things the Bush administration did by Executive Order that were, at best, an exploitation of a grey area... as a result of 9/11 and under the guise of National Security. My beef is that the same people (mostly left wingers) that decried this as using a crisis to infringe on our liberties are oddly silent now that the Obama administration is using a crisis to expand Federal power more than any other administration in US history. Hypocrisy? It sure looks like it to me! They are doing the same thing: exploiting people's fears (economic this time instead of security) to further their agenda. And most people seem to be willing to give up liberty for a false security offered by Washington. I do NOT.

Be specific about what fears are being exploited now?

But......there actually is a global economic crisis.......whereas the security crisis, at least as regards Iraq, proved non existent, but continued to be exploited as if it was real.

Economic fears specifically. And the COngress and Obama administration's answer to all of our problems seems to spend, spend, spend tax money, most of it loans held by China. And they just had the US Treasury pring 1.2 Trillion dollars, and just wait and see what happens when all that paper hits the street...

The fact is that the "economic crisis" the US is facing has been coming for quite some time, and largely the result of unsustainable consumerism that propped up the economy for years and the massive export of our manufacturing jobs to places with no labor laws. I fail to see how the answer to these economic problems is for Washington to grow the government. Can someone explain how it helps "fix" the underlying causes for the long term??
